“BUCK !” The scream rips out his throat as he watches Buck dangling from the ladder, unmoving and seemingly unconscious from the strike.

Before he knew he had even moved from his spot, Tommy was on the ground, grabbing his nose with his hand- a blunt pain shooting through Eddie’s fist from where it had collided with the pilot’s face. The guests around them had all turned to watch in horror as Tommy let out a pained shout.
“What the fuck?” Tommy growled, sounding congested- his nose no doubt broken and bleeding.
Eddie looked around at the horrified looks on everyone’s faces as he quickly turned and made his way to the front door- dropping his beer bottle on the floor as he went, not even bothering to care about the mess it would make. He quickly scrambled into his truck before making the long drive back home, his hand throbbing in pain from having punched Tommy so hard.

Missing Chris is less of an emotion these days and more of a physical entity. He’s sure everyone can see that he’s slowly hollowing himself out, that he can’t do much of anything else.
But when Jee laughs at him trying to get his tongue to touch his nose, and Mara loops one of her arms through his to keep him from tossing the rest of his cup in the garbage, Eddie feels solid again.
Maybe he likes yellow birthday cake ice cream after all.

In the last two years he has been blown up and subsequently crushed by a fire truck, suffered from a pulmonary embolism, nearly drowned in a tsunami and now this. How many times can he almost die before it stops being an accident and starts being some kind of cosmic hit put out on his life?
Or, a building collapses on Buck and Eddie. Confessions ensue.
