“Oh, I don’t know,” Astarion clenched his jaw and hissed a long, seething breath from between his teeth. "Perhaps," he glowered, "to help an ally with a broken leg!"

Summary
When Halsin had ducked into his tent after returning from his jaunt in the nearby woodland with Wyll, he knew something was different. The air held an unspoken ‘otherness’.
The fact that Astarion was still sprawled out on the blankets fast asleep was a big enough tell that today their adventures would have to be placed on pause. The man laid tangled in seemingly every fabric the tent housed, a hand wrapped tightly in his blanket was tucked up against his face and Halsin could see the small damp spot forming from where the spittle gathered as Astarion held the fabric between his teeth, suckling at it while he rested.
It appears that they would be visited by an eagerly awaited young visitor that day.

Summary
Astarion inhaled some poisonous spores in the Underdark that made him horrendously ill. He then kept trying to get Tav to leave. Now, would Tav have admitted he was not at his prettiest? Yes. Were they going to leave him alone sick and miserable? No! They were going to care for him despite the mild disgust they occasionally ran into, as any good partner should!
(Not, I repeat, NOT for the emetophobic, unless you're looking for an unintentional horror story)

Summary
Emotional shock is one hells of a drug and trauma is amazing at stunting one's ability to mature, so is it really so impossible to believe that Astarion would slip into a more childlike mindset in moments like these? Considering the events of the night, Tav didn't think so.

Even though you had both decided to stay as friends back at Moonrise Towers, lines begin to blur once more as other cravings come to the surface… and things with Astarion are seldom uncomplicated.

The camp has been restless of late, the lack of sleep getting to everyone; late at night while Tav is working, Astarion has a nightmare about his former master, waking to a shock that had him not only shaken, but now wracked with guilt. In an attempt to ease him, she offers to take Astarion away from the camp, giving the two some time alone so she can help take his mind off things.

“Astarion?” The voice is deep and soft, familiar in its warmth. Astarion’s head tilts towards the sound of it, slowly making out the features of a kind face, chestnut hair brushing over broad shoulders.
Astarion’s jaw works, his tongue pressing at the back of his teeth, his entire head aching. “Halsin?” He croaks, the melodic lilt of his voice sounding like the scratch of a sickly beast. His throat feels as if he had swallowed glass, and then he had been kicked in the esophagus for good measure.
(Or, Astarion grows sick. Halsin takes care of him.)

“Forgive me for being ah, nosy,” he chortles, and you roll your eyes at the pun. “But I couldn’t help but notice a particular… aroma wafting from your direction.”
You blink and subtly try to sniff yourself, confused and more than a little annoyed with his roundabout insults. He simply laughs and shakes his head. “No, no, not that. Believe me, I certainly don’t smell any more like a summer’s day than you do after the day we’ve had. No, I meant… well, you smell like blood, darling. And yet you haven’t a speck on you.” He looks you up and down as he speaks, almost leering at you.
You can’t tell if he just thinks of you as a snack, or as something more. Whatever it is, you like it. Except for right now, because it dawns on you immediately what he’s smelling, and you want to melt into the ground right where you stand. Evidently, Astarion doesn’t need to see to know that your cycle has started. He can smell it.
Astarion simply chuckles and steps closer. “I was right, wasn’t I? There’s no need to be embarrassed, sweetheart, the monthly cycle is perfectly natural—“
Astarion eats you out on your period. That's it. That's the fic. Because there aren't enough of them. Set during Act 1.

“Two-hundred-and-forty,” he answers without hesitation. “Give or take a few years.”
Halsin swallows, rewords his question. “How old were you when you were turned?”
Astarion goes quiet. Extremely, cacophonously quiet.
“Thirty-nine,” he finally says, a bolt straight into Halsin’s heart.

Tav notices that something's wrong with Astarion. After some critical think they realize why- Astarion has not fed in some time, and it's definitely affecting him.
With limited options at their current disposal, Tav offers their blood. While Astarion is apprehensive, he caves, knowing that he can't continue as he is without putting his life (and Tav's) at risk in his weakened state.Unfortunately, not feeding for some time can lead to losing oneself until sated. Astarion ends up drinking more than he wanted, and for the first time in so long, fears losing someone he cares for.
