Summary
"The Emperor's heir," Schlatt continued, in the same tone, in the same voice, with the same ledger-look on his face, "has agreed to enter a formal union with the Crown Prince of the Southern Kingdom. The arrangement will be legally binding under both kingdoms' codes of law. It will be enacted within sixty days of the signing of the formal treaty."
Sixty days.
Dream heard the number land and noted, with the distant observational part of his mind that kept functioning regardless of what the rest of him was doing, that sixty days was a specific and deliberate choice. Enough time to pretend deliberation had occurred. Not enough time for anything to be meaningfully changed by it.
"The Emperor's heir," Dream said, and his voice was precisely, carefully, absolutely level. "Which one?"
Schlatt said: "The Crown Prince. Technoblade."
Or: Dream, the Crown Prince of the Southern Kingdom is given to the Crown Prince of the Antarctic Empire, Technoblade, as the final clause of a lost war, and neither of them expected what came after.
Or: Your not-so-typical arranged marriage AU.

Summary
He could not die. Not because he wanted to live, but because Techno could not. To die would be to betray him. It would be to extinguish Techno’s memory, to let the vibrant, brilliant pattern of his life be forgotten.
Someone had to remember the exact shade of his grey eyes, the sound of his laugh, the weight of his head on a shoulder. Someone had to live the years he was cheated of.
Or: Dream discovers his soul is bound to Technoblade’s, cursed to find and befriend him in every reincarnation, only to witness him die at the age of twenty-three—over, and over, and over again.

Summary
"This," Dream whispered, his voice finally soft, "is what I wanted."
Techno's breath left him in a rush, as if he'd been holding it for hours. Days. A lifetime. "It's just lines."
"It's just you," Dream corrected, folding the drawing carefully, putting it in his pocket next to the stone from the photographer. "And you're not a project. You're just my husband. Who's terrible at drawing."
Techno pulled him close, his grip almost painful. "I'll burn the restored book," he promised. "I'll find you one that's falling apart. I'll—"
"No," Dream interrupted, pulling back just enough to see his face. "Keep it. Let it be a reminder that you can't fix everything. That some things need to be broken."
Or: Dream lives as the curated center of his husband's violent world, spoiled until his silence forces Techno to learn that love isn't about fixing—it's about drawing a potato badly, burning toast intentionally, and calling a broken thing beautiful.
Or: Many instances of Techno spoiling Dream. Until it was the other way around.

Summary
“That’s—”
“Inappropriate?” Techno finishes, and there’s a wildness in his smile now, a recklessness. “I took a baseball bat to appropriate three years ago when I realized the only person who makes me feel like a person instead of a portfolio is the one person I’m not allowed to have.”
The word have is a detonation. Dream’s knees weaken. He braces a hand against the wall, fingers splayed on the cool plaster.
“Stop.” It’s barely a whisper.
“I can’t.” Techno is closer now. Somehow. Dream doesn’t remember him moving.
Or: Secretary Dream keeps his billionaire CEO running on schedule and oat-milk lattes, but when the rhythm of late-night puzzles and ten-foot silences starts to feel like love, the job description begins to cost more than he budgeted for.

“Are you going to stay now?” Ranboo asked, his voice small.
Techno’s gaze lifted from Ranboo to meet Dream’s over their son’s head. It was a look that held a thousand questions, a thousand regrets, and a single, unwavering answer.
The decision wasn't his alone to make. He was an outsider in this carefully built world.
“That,” Techno said, his voice impossibly gentle, “is something we will all have to decide together. But I would… I would like to. If it’s okay with you. And your Daddy.”
Or: A single Omega parent, Dream, must protect the peaceful life he built with his son, Ranboo, when the boy's powerful Sire unexpectedly returns, threatening the fragile world they've created.

Day 4 (09/02) - Masquerade
Then, a familiar, infuriating presence materialized at his elbow. Dream.
Even amidst the glittering throng, he drew the eye. His mask was a masterpiece of emerald and silver, shaped like elegant, curling leaves that framed eyes the unsettling green of deep forest moss – eyes currently narrowed in Techno’s direction. He was draped in a perfectly cut suit the colour of new growth, impossibly slender next to Techno’s broad frame.
Impossibly pretty, Techno thought, the observation hitting him with the unwelcome force of a physical blow. He hated how it made his chest tighten.
Or: Techno and Dream pretended to be husbands on a mission together. Courtesy of Philza and Puffy.

Techno stopped in his tracks.
"I can love him." He stared at Philza's piercing eyes.
"I can. I could. I just need to find him."
Philza looked back at Techno. His voice was low, heavy with the terrible truth.
"Even if you love him back, Techno," he said, the words falling like stones into the sudden, ringing silence after the hammer blow, "it wouldn’t make a difference."
Or: Dream got a curse. Chrysalys disease.

Summary
The realization bloomed then, slow and devastating, like ink spreading on water.
He had spent his life yearning for a Blade-like love. A love that conquered all, unwavering, constant, written in the bold strokes of fantasy. He’d sought it in George’s distant gaze, in Wilbur’s poetic fireflies, even in Fundy’s valiant effort. He’d measured real love against a fictional ideal, always finding it lacking.
But real love wasn't Blade’s epic saga.
Or: Dream, a hopeless romantic, disillusioned by real-world heartbreaks, finally learns true love is resilient and human, not a perfect storybook epic.
Or: 3+1 fanfic with Dream experiencing three heartbreaks and one... fictional/real love...?
Or: Dream meets someone who looks a lot like Blade, a fictional character he loves from the The Crimson Kingdoms series.

Techno met his gaze, unwavering. The ache in his chest was a familiar companion, but now it was mixed with a fierce, protective fury and the dawning, terrifying realization that his yearning hadn't been a vigil for a ghost, but a beacon for a storm.

Techno’s gaze held his, unwavering. "I carry them because I have you," he said simply, with utter conviction.
"You’re the strength behind my strength, Dream. My compass. My heart." He leaned forward, resting his forehead against Dream’s.
The contact was electric, a silent communion. Dream closed his eyes, breathing in the scent of him – pine, gunpowder, and something uniquely, essentially Techno.

Day 7 (09/05) - Tending to each other
He saw it instantly – the flinch. A flicker of pure, unguarded pain that fractured the stormy green eyes before Dream could rebuild the walls.
It was the look Ranboo had worn during their worst arguments, magnified a thousandfold on the face of the man who had once been his everything.
The sight was a physical blow, driving the air from Techno’s lungs. The fury evaporated, replaced by a crushing wave of guilt and regret so potent it stole his voice. He looked away, unable to bear it, his grip on the medkit loosening.
Or: Standing amidst the suffocating silence of his snowbound cabin, the gunpowder scent of their shared victory still clinging to them, Technoblade realized with a devastating ache that Dream tending his wounds—with hands both familiar and agonizingly missed—wasn't about the ended alliance, but the terrifying, beautiful truth that the love which had shattered their family and fueled L'Manberg's ruin had never truly died.

Day 6 (09/04) - Mythology
Dream knew this ancient story by heart. His mother Puffy had whispered it to him on nights when his own heart felt too big for his small body, when the world seemed too vast and lonely.
She would trace constellations on his back with her fingertips as she spoke of Helios' golden chariot and Selene's silver veil.

"We both know you don’t deserve this."
Techno’s voice, clear and resonant in his memory, spoken during a rare moment of vulnerability Dream had confessed long before the prison, echoed in the stifling cell.
It wasn’t spoken with pity, but with a grim, unflinching assessment.
Or: The isolation finally caught up to Dream.

Day 3 (09/01) - Secret Identity
Every glance from Techno sent a fresh wave of confusion and aching sadness crashing over him.
Why didn’t you tell me? The question screamed silently in his mind. Did you know? Do you remember? Is that why you spared me at Doomsday? Because I was... yours?
The thought of Techno, the fearsome Blade, holding him as a child, teaching him, loving him, was overwhelming. It changed everything. And yet, it explained so much.
But the other figure... the one his heart instinctively called 'Mama'... the green hoodie, the blond hair... the contradiction. Dream. Cruel, manipulative Dream, who treated people like pawns.
The man in his memory radiated pure, protective love. They couldn't be the same.
They couldn't.

Day 2 (08/31) - After a Duel
The accusation hung heavy in the air. It wasn't about the duel, or the blood, or the crown. It was about the earthquake Techno had caused in the frozen landscape of Dream’s heart.

Day 1 (08/30) - Roommates
"Lunch," Techno stated, his voice flat.
Dream braced himself. "Yeah, I was just—"
"I'll handle it."
The words landed with the impact of a snowball to the face. Dream blinked, sure he’d misheard. "What?"
Techno shifted his weight, his gaze fixed somewhere over Dream’s shoulder towards the distant pines. "Lunch. I'll cook it." He delivered the statement like a tactical decision, devoid of inflection.
A beat of stunned silence stretched between them, filled only by the sigh of the wind. Then, the sheer, unexpected absurdity of it cut through Dream’s fog of defeat. A startled, slightly hysterical laugh bubbled up in his chest. He didn't mean to let it out, but it escaped – a short, sharp bark of disbelief.
Techno’s crimson eyes snapped to him, narrowing slightly. "Problem?"
Or: Dream is wrecked after escaping the prison with Techno offering him a home. While, of course, trying to not get suspicions of his growing feelings to Techno.

"An open door, Technoblade?" Dream’s voice dripped with sarcasm, each word a carefully aimed barb. "How… domestic." He tilted his head, the mask’s smile seeming to mock.
"You know," he continued, his tone light, conversational, yet cutting deep, "if I didn't know any better…" He paused, letting the implication hang, heavy and dangerous.
"If it weren’t for this whole… rivals thing…" Another pause, deliberate, cruel. "I’d almost think you were in love with me."
Or: Dream called in the favor. Unexpectedly.
