Just a couple of years ago Ratio at best tolerated Aventurine and his antics.
Yet, a switch must have flipped at some point in the time they’d known each other. Aventurine thought as much, quite suddenly, as he stood in the entryway to his penthouse, eyes focused on the baffling sight of Dr. Veritas Ratio holding three cat-like creatures.

Summary
He should be focusing on the work on his desk in front of him. Instead, he is reduced to a quivering mess at the thought of something as simple as prayer.
(It is not so simple to Aventurine, not so simple to Kakavasha. The thought of prayer alone does not leave him anxious. What does is the emptiness that surrounds him, in this room and in this life he lives. With a cold lump of dread he acknowledges the fact that he could not pray, even if he wanted to indulge the longing, because he only has one set of palms where there should be two.
The prayer would not be complete if he spoke the words alone. They require a partner, someone he can trust with this fragile piece of himself and these sacred words that will one day be lost because he is the last one to know their cadence. And surely that is where his gifted luck draws the line, because no such person exists–)
There is a knock on his office door.

“Y’know, you’re so smart that I wouldn’t be surprised if you were actually a human,” he commented offhandedly, looking at the horizon with no particular thoughts in mind.
He doesn’t notice the cat freezing. After a few minutes, with no leash getting tugged, the man glances at him with a questioning look. The cat still stares.
“What? You’re not human, are you?”
The cat scoffs, looking away.
Wilbur shrugs. Nothing strange, just a new normal day.
(Tommy, mentally, screams at how dumbasses humans are).
Techno has what is considered a normal life: he gets up, showers, has breakfast, brushes his teeth, goes to college, tutors, works, comes back home and goes to sleep. Well, it’s not exactly like that, but it’s close enough and shorter than the actual thing. In just two words: it's boring.
It starts to be not so boring when an orange ball invades his life - and house.

Techno paused as he made eye contact with a tiny, shivering kitten, little back arched and ginger fur standing on end. There was a gentle spark of recognition, one shape changer to another, and Techno realized that oh.
This was a shifter.
He leaned forward just a little to get a better look, and the baby shifter hissed, such a tiny little sound, and leaned away from him. Their little claws were unsheathed and digging into the dirt below them.

“I’m not going to hurt you,” Technoblade said adamantly.
“Dream, I need Dream.” Tommy sounded desperate, his eyes darting across the beach as if searching for his porcelain savior.
Technoblade's pointed ears pricked up at that and his instincts buzzed angrily up his spine. Even the idea that Dream had somehow roped Tommy into a dependence on him was enough to make Technoblade want to break every bone in the fucker’s body.
“You don’t need him,” Technoblade insisted. “Come on, Tommy. Let me take you home.”
“I don’t have a home,” Tommy whispered, and the tremble of his voice broke something in Technoblade’s stone heart.
“Yes, you do,” he said, as steadily as he could with what might as well have been an arrow lodged in his chest. “You have one with me. That will never change.”
Tommy bit his lip. His ears were quivering slightly, his tail swishing against the sand in a gesture of uncertainty.
“Please, Tommy.” Technoblade softened his voice, the way he used to when Tommy was just a kit in his scrawny, teenage arms.

Faint shuffling came from behind a dumpster to his left and from the darkness appears two glowing red eyes.
“You took a Hippocratic oath,” they say seriously.
“Sure did,” Phil agrees, looking over the kid now in front of him. Their long pink hair is the first thing that grabs Phil's attention but as he searches for any sign of an injury, he just notices the very recognisable suit they wear.
It's hard for Phil to connect the notorious villain Blood God and this scared and injured kid in his mind but while he might lack self preservation, he's also not a complete idiot.
OR: Phil's never been fond of superhero's but after saving a villains life he gets way too caught up in their world for his liking and things are worse than they seem.
OR OR: Phil might have just gotten kidnapped by villain teens and made into a father.
