It wasn’t the right question. It wasn’t what he wanted to say. In fact, everything unfamiliar was within him at that moment. Like a part of him had just seen that angle in a prism, where everything came into sharp focus at once—cyan, fuschia, yellow, orange, green. It was a lot.
“Hey,” Robin said softly, because she knew him. She knew him. “Look at me. Yeah, it’s okay, look at me, Steve-o. Tell me… Would you?”

Chrissy laughed, rolling her eyes. “That, you are, Eddie. Say, speaking of hot—has anyone caught your eye this year? Are you taken?”
Steve was tempted to run to his kitchen. To ignore the answer and shout into his bag of flour until he had the will to make bread rolls with them. Robin would come out of her room and find him stressed—because bread rolls were, apparently, a sign of them.
“I was speaking hot in the temperature sense, Chris, but no. I’m afraid no one’s caught my eye. Not since I left and entered showbiz. And sorry to break hearts, but,” Eddie looked at the camera, and Steve felt his heart drop to his ass. “I don’t really plan on finding anybody else. Not now, and not ever.”

“Interesting,” the demon purred, bottomless eyes drinking him whole, as if something had clicked into place. It hummed its appreciation, eyes flitting up and down, from the erection, to the ruined robes, the red line up Steve’s throat, the bottom lip pressed so softly, underneath its talon. The priest—this man—had bright, determined eyes, shiny and doe-like. Much less a sinner, more like a saint.
Irony that God would turn and send him away.
“Are you going to hurt me?” Steve asked, as if danger had only struck him now.
Or: Priest Steve Harrington had always lied to himself, about who he was and what he was. But a demon had heard his lies, and it wanted him to face them head on (and sealed their souls together in the process).

Summary
The way Steve Harrington burrowed into his heart wasn’t ordinary nor simple. Nothing about the man—at least, beyond the surface—had ever been. He lived his life as if he was in constant danger, just ramped up to a frighteningly high degree. Maybe head trauma did that to you. Maybe whatever life Steve had with his family did that to you. If those scars and the lack of parents in the picture weren’t a sign, he didn’t know what else was.
Eddie still had to wonder about the things that haunted Steve every waking moment.

Eddie Munson has heard all about that weird murder town, Hawkins, and its freak accidents. He's never really thought about it, though. It never came to mind.
Not until Steve Harrington moved into the abandoned house across the street, scarred and wary, like he was hiding. Running away. Like he'd been fighting monsters his whole life.
As if those monsters were even real.
(Which, they were, but Eddie didn't know that.)

Aizawa Shota liked to think he didn't have many regrets. And if he could physically count all the things he’d done that he’d ended up regretting, then it was extra assurance to his first statement, though getting wasted on his dead friend's grief and losing his virginity in the process had definitely slithered up to the first rank.
Sakura had many regrets in life, and it wasn't exactly a stretch to say her regrets stacked up to match the Hokage monuments. But killing herself wasn't one of them.

Sakura’s reborn as Shota’s daughter and wreaks havoc in everyone's life. In a good way, of course.
