Summary
In July 1962, Trapper and Hawkeye meet at a medical conference in Boston, and have dinner with Charles and Margaret. Hawkeye's been asked to write a book on trauma surgery in wartime: BJ is organizing a reunion for the 4077th in Chicago for the tenth anniversary of the end of the Korean war. Hawkeye flies home to New York and Francis Mulcahy.
The story follows the year from that meeting to 27th July 1963 when the 4077th meet in Chicago: the (so far) final story of the Sins and Virtues series.

“I wouldn’t have had to tell our landlord that you were in breach of our lease if you hadn’t been in breach of our lease,” Rimmer snapped. “Really, you –”
Reluctant flatmates Lister and Rimmer are forced to move into a one bedroom flat after getting evicted. Unfortunately, it's early 2020 and what was supposed to be a temporary situation drags on. And on...
In which Lister won't stop bringing home new flatmates, Holly communicates exclusively via Zoom call, Kryten bakes bread, the Cat bedazzles a lot of face masks, Rimmer hoards toilet paper, and everyone learns some things about themselves.

Dr. G is an enigmatic figure in Newt’s life, a man who was not present at parent-teacher night due to a disdain for small talk (allegedly) and who gave Newt’s very brilliant child her first B in math. Newt figures that anyone who teaches math couldn’t be particularly cool or interesting, but Avery and her friends list him among their favorite teachers. He seems hard on the students, but not overly so, at least judging by the fact that Avery did not cry when she received the aforementioned B.
“If you’re gonna stay late again, you gotta text me around the time you normally come home,” Newt says. “I know you like the robot club, but your schoolwork comes first.”

For the first time in several years, all of the Gottliebs are going to be in the same place, or close enough to the same place. He knew that settling in a city like London would only mean he’d see his father more often as he came through on business, but he usually managed to keep that restricted to formal lunches. Now that both of his parents are staying for a week in their country home and his sister and older brother are in town. It’s only a brief invitation to Bastien before they’ve all agreed to assemble.

It’s been fifteen years since Gordon put away the game for good. He packed up his life in New Mexico, moved up the country and got a real, fresh start in life, new job, new friends, the works- all was well. He doesn’t think about the people he left inside a video game after promising he’d get them out. It was just too painful, and at one point, it felt like it became too late to go back. He eventually forgot about the box that he stored the VR headset away in all those years ago, collecting dust and waiting for him to return.
Well, maybe he can’t entirely forget it, but he’s done a damn good job of ignoring it.
At least, until Joshua finds it.
