Summary
Ronan rarely called Fox Way Veterinary Clinic unless there was something severely wrong, most things he could handle on his own. This was both a good and bad thing. Good because it saved Ronan time and money and also meant that none of his animals were sick enough to warrant any veterinarian intervention. Bad because it meant Ronan rarely got to see Dr. Parrish.

Summary
“Adam,” Ronan says. Adam startles at the use of his first name, but he turns to look at Ronan. With the soft glow of moonlight reaching through the stained glass, Ronan’s eyes sparkle something softer than he would let himself appear in the daytime. “Just because I believe, doesn’t mean you need to.”
Adam blinks.
He thinks of the little six year old boy hiding away from a god-fearing man, and he thinks of the thirteen year old burning from the inside as he looks at another boy’s smile, and he thinks of himself, now, sitting here and cursing god for creating Adam in the first place.
“I don’t,” he says bluntly. “If there is a god, he’s not a gentle one.”
Ronan runs his thumb over the curve of Adam’s cheek. “Then don’t believe,” he says. “Make your own god.”
Adam laughs, Ronan’s soft words of blasphemy echoing throughout the stone cathedral walls.
Make your own god.
Adam looks at Ronan, beautifully alive in the darkness of the cathedral.
Maybe he will.

Summary
When they touch him, get too close without him noticing, especially since he can’t always tell; bad ear and all. Watching from afar, it’s painful, really. Seeing a boy so pure and absolutely innocent, bribed by an event made to bruise him forever. In many different ways.
or
Adam Parrish flinches every time people touch him without warning him first, except when it’s Ronan Lynch.

You wanted someone and then you got them or you didn’t, that’s what Ronan had thought when he was younger. Now he knew that you wanted and then you got him, and then it got bigger and deeper until you felt like you could die from just lying across from him and watching him sleep, miraculous and whole.

Summary
Outside, the world was icy and gray. Inside, everything was now lit with a magnificent golden hour. The walls were streaked with violet and soft pinks. Everything was touched with glowing sunlight. Slowly, the colors shifted as if the room had its own sun sinking behind an invisible horizon.
His to-do list for the evening was long but Adam allowed himself time to sit on his bed and watch the changing colors.

Ronan laid on his stomach, head turned towards Adam, eyes glazed. He looked tired, but happy, with his pale cheeks dusted pink, and his pink lips swollen purple. He looked like he should be kissed more, but not just yet. He looked like he should be admired, but he was the one admiring.
