Even more fortunately, Hermione says they're in a different dimension entirely.

Summary
Harry Potter has never been normal. Even before he was born, he was a child of prophecy. So no part of his life could be called normal in the slightest. When given the chance to have a 'normal' life, does he even know what that means? No, he's gone through too much to even try, and he's too tired to care. It's too bad everyone expects him to be the upstanding son and heir of the Potter family when he's never had family before in his life though.
Also, the baby is a little difficult to explain. The baby who may eventually turn into Lord Voldemort...no, nature vs. nurture and all, and Harry plans to nurture the hell out of this kid.

It’s very tropey and over the top with how overpowered and special Harry is.
It’s still fun though. There are a handful of moments the made me laugh out loud, which is pretty rare for something I read.

Really fun. Some odd twists and turns.
I sometimes get a bit annoyed with the Dumbledore bashing from this author, but didn’t super mind it in this fic. And it’s never been enough for me to dislike one of their fic’s anyway. Especially since canon Dumbledore is questionable at best (though with good intentions).

Note: this story is finished. It has all the chapters broken into five sections. A bit unwieldy but at least it’s complete.
Lovely! Overall really great. Might re-read eventually, but I would probably stop around when he goes to Hogwarts. It stops being as interesting to me and starts feeling more tedious. I also tend to skim/skip the smut.
I do absolutely love this depiction of squibs and other magical beings. I’ve always liked the idea that squibs can have magical gifts, even if they may not have enough magic/the right kind of magic for using a wand.
The only squibs we really get in canon are Filch- awful and bitter and shouldn’t be around children. And Figg who either somehow missed the abuse and neglect or didn’t do anything about it, and was depicted as a crazy cat lady. I’ve thought about how Filch being treated as less than by the magical world shouldn’t give him license to mistreat/threaten children, but I’ve never thought about how his interactions with kids at Hogwarts could contribute further to the stigma around squibs. Considering he may be the only person many kids in Hogwarts know of as a squib.
Harry is a bit stupidly over powered and I don’t love the whole founders Little Angel thing. Dumbledore being horrible and manipulative could've been more subtle and nuanced so it’s a little less over the top. But overall I still like this story quite a bit.

Interesting take on post war life focused on the Grangers and Draco.
I think if Hermione was really that close to her parents in canon, she probably would’ve found another way to hide them. Even if it’s just convincing them to change their identities and move to Australia and not have contact with her until the war is over, but without the memory loss. Or they could’ve been hidden by the order. I imagine that Hermione in canon hid her parents that way at least in part because they didn’t understand the situation fully and it would’ve been very difficult to explain everything and get them to safety in time if she were suddenly fully honest.

When the Ministry informs Harry that they are coming to destroy his wand for defending himself from the dementors that attack him in Little Whinging, Harry knows there's only one path left available to him. He can survive on his own. He knows how. It won't even be that hard. And being on the run in his animagus form makes him a feel a little closer to Sirius, anyway.
At least, he thinks so, until he's picked up by a pet store, sold to a classmate, and brought right back to Hogwarts where the state of things is so bad that he's actually glad he's expelled.
