Summary
Midnighter's movements are quick and casual and nothing in his body language flags this as threatening. He puts the shirt away, neatly folded, and isn't so much as looking at Dick. And that leads Dick to a bit of an uncomfortable conclusion: this isn't fear. It's much worse.
Aka that awkward moment when your unhinged psychopathic frenemy in the making is actually attractive out of costume, and the knowledge that you shouldn't do anything about that only holds up for so long.

It’s a flimsy red case the size of a lunchbox that Tiger had purchased on a whim months ago, and they both know it doesn’t have what they need. “If you hadn’t called, what was the plan gonna be? Leave it alone and hope it goes away?”
Tiger opens his fiercely gritted teeth enough to push out a word. “Yes.”
“Wonderful,” says Dick tightly. “Thanks so much for clearing that up.”

Wally looks at him questioningly but, doesn’t say anything. Dick clears his throat and looks his fiancée in the eye before speaking, “Well, I sort of ran into someone yesterday.”
“And you’re letting them sleep in your bed?” Wally guesses incredulous.
“You don’t understand. I wasn’t going to let him sleep on the couch, it’s uncomfortable.” Dick claims.
“So, you slept on the couch?” Wally asked confused.
“Now you’re getting it.”
“Am I, though?”
“Wally, love, this kid deserves the best of the best. I wasn’t going to let him sleep on the couch.” Dick explains.
“Kid?!” Wally exclaims, “Dick, did you kidnap a child?”
“Technically no.”
“What do you mean, technically?!”
“I mean I didn’t take him without parental consent? Technically.” Dick tries (and fails) to explain.

He didn’t want to die. There’s still so much he wanted to do. There was still so many things he wanted to say and experience and feel. But there was no other way he would rather go, there was no one he’d rather spend his last moments with.
Ten, nine, eight…
Dick leans forward, can’t stop himself, and places a hand on Wally’s cheek. Wally shudders, more attacks are sent their way, and then the speedster leans forward. There is so much he wants to say, so much he wants to experience, so much he wants to do. But he only has so much time left, so Dick presses their lips together, presses as close as he dares, holds as tight as he can, savors all that he can get.
He wants to linger. He wants to press his forehead against Wally’s and just stare into his eyes, wants to hold his hand and see him smile, wants to trace his freckles with his fingertips. He wants and he wants and he wants, but he cannot have.
Or: Dick kisses Wally, knowing they wouldn't survive this mission. He doesn’t expect to wake up to find everything perfectly fine, nor does he expect anything to become of the kiss. He was wrong, even if it takes some time.

After taking care of a Georgian terrorist cell in Cairo, Dick encounters a very attractive and distinct man. In the end, however, arresting gun-toting criminals trumps getting a hottie's cell number. Bummer. That's until Dick starts seeing the same man everywhere he goes while investigating one of the world's most dangerous gangsters; Roman Sionis.
What are the chances this unknown man is a trusted co-conspirator of Sionis or an ally hidden in not-so-plain sight? Dick, armed with only his sass and encyclopedic knowledge of Disney, has only a short time to find out.

“This apartment isn’t as secure as you think,” Tiger said, slamming the door and clicking the deadbolt shut. That’s all there was: a deadbolt and a flimsy lock. Tiger had seen more security on the door of abandoned shacks.
“It’s my sanctuary,” Dick said. There was a faint sheen of sweat on his forehead, and his arm- shoulder dislocated- was hanging limp against his side. Even with all that, a wild grin was split open across his face. You’d never be able to tell from his expression that he was injured at all.
“It’s a shitty sanctuary,” Tiger replied, “Now sit down.”
