Diluc gets badly injured in a duel with Scaramouche and was captured by Childe to Snezhnaya by order of the Tsaritsa.
The more he got to know Childe, as well as remembered their past, the more he fell in love with his enemy.
He decided to stay with Childe and become a Harbinger. But Kaeya, who turned out to be the Prince of the Abyss, tries to take him back and wants to rebuild Khaenri'ah with him instead.-

Diluc’s mouth hung open, his eyebrows furrowed.
She continued while toying with a chess piece between her fingers. “Heir to the Dawn Winery, the Knights of Favonius’ former cavalry captain, enemy to Eroch and the Fatui, and bearer of your father’s delusion.”
“That’s confidential.”
“Perhaps for some people.” Her eyes narrowed as she scrutinized the chess piece in her hand. “However, we aren’t some people.”

Summary
When Crepus Ragnvindr opened his eyes after he could have sworn he died, of course it came as a shock. And then he found out he had been resurrected four years later, and was quick to try and make things right, fix the mess he had left behind. For example, the fact that the winery was hardly able to hold itself together without anyone officially in charge, and most importantly, the emotional state those he cared about, especially his sons.
But Diluc isn't home. And Kaeya has held onto that pyro vision for four years now, the only thing letting them know that Diluc was alive.
Diluc on the other hand is dealing with one of the possible consequences of discarding his Vision: memory loss. More specifically, forgetting his father and many of the things he did in life that he could connect to his father.

The only noise he makes is the closing of the door with a soft click. He doesn’t plan on opening that door again any time soon.

She wants to scoop him up and hold him like he’s ten again but he is barricading himself behind that door. Why is he barricading himself behind that door? What happened?
As the days pass, Adelinde finds herself missing him more than she did when he was gone. For a long time after that, he doesn’t speak to her again.
-Or, some things happened in Snezhnaya (involving a certain mad doctor), leading to Diluc being more reclusive than ever. Luckily, he manages to run into a certain wolf boy in the middle of the night, and things snowball from there.
