If someone had told McCoy he’d be helping co-babysit a young Vulcan with an adult Vulcan he found irritating to no end on the maiden voyage of Starfleet’s flagship shortly after the destruction of an entire planet, he would’ve laughed in their face, then checked them over for signs of head trauma.
As it happened, he would probably be the one who’d need to get his head checked after this whole ordeal.
Or: In the aftermath of the destruction of Vulcan, McCoy finds himself connecting with a young Vulcan girl in need of a family. As he juggles the stresses of his job and responsibilities, another connection forms between him and Spock, surprising both McCoy and everyone else.

Jim works nights at a government lab as a custodian while attending college. He dreams of the stars, of another life he's meant to have, but has no way to achieve those dreams. The military doesn't want him, and NASA is still aways from wanting to hire him.
One night, a ship falls from the sky. The lab takes possession of the ship and the 'specimen' inside.
Jim can't fight the pull he feels towards the strange man with slanted brows, pointy ears, and green blood.

When Nero emerged through a blackhole and destroyed the Kelvin, it sent ripples through the timeline that would be felt for decades, but the defining alteration for James T. Kirk and S’Chn T’Gai Spock came hours later - with the Lady Amanda Grayson holding a newborn baby in her arms as she stood next to Winona Kirk’s bedside on Vulcan.

Read vol 1 first or then hop straight in. Or bi-ly in. Queerly in.Alignment project continues. Khan has unfinished business with the crew of the Enterprise and begins to use his manipulation skills in order to "take control that which you cannot destroy". In volume one we saw Khan in his lowest. Now he's started the long way back to the ultimate top of all things. Will his planning work? How far will Khan's ambition take him? Can he even forgive?
Khan goes to court martial, all according to his planning. Jim and the rest are arrested. Khan is contemplating between vengeance and letting his old enemies live in order to team up in the face of a bigger threat: the war Marcus has finally got, from beyond the grave. Mirror-Khan is looming in the backround, wishing for destruction.
Trust issues on both sides: can the Botany Bay crew work together with the Enteprise crew, or will it all end in flames and chaos?Khan meets Marla. Jim, after falling under Khan's verbal spellwork, has a vivid sex dream about him which ofc makes Spock feel things because their dreams are interconnected.
