Summary
Marian Hawke is an asshole in a city filled with assholes. So she surrounds herself with assholes that she trusts and then embraces it. Of course she'd wind up the Champion of Asshole City.
(This is a retelling of DA2, with a special focus on a Hawke who wholeheartedly supports Anders and the Mage Underground. Some of the story/dialogue will be the same and some of it will be different. Rated explicit for a lot of strong language, copious amounts of blood and violence, and some smut. More info in the opening notes. This is a very Anders positive story.)

Hello! Thank you for checking out my take on Femslash February! It's good to start balancing out the scales of what kind of pairings I write for! The F/F section was looking a little... meager before this month! This is a collection of 28 different fics, all about my various Femslash ships and female characters, both Canon and custom PC alike—with a few plot-relevant boys thrown in. Each fic, aside from the last two, are in response to the prompts written for the Love of Dragon Age 2025 event!
Each OC has their own designated series. All characters' fics are interconnected, even if they can stand alone as one-shots. More content about each of them is available on my tumblr!

Summary
I decided to examine the ‘mage life’ because I believe it is not something thoroughly discussed in the depth I'd like to see it done. This story is built up from a developmental perspective of what being a mage means and how the existence of magic affects the Andrastian society. I tried to elaborate on the central characters from an early stage (my lame attempt at a Bildungsroman) so one’s individual view of magic can be understood from a personal level. I focused on three major characters to achieve this scope: A mage (Elizabeth Amell), a person surrounded by magic brought up without oppressive views on it (Alexander Hawke), and someone indoctrinated to chastise magical abilities (Cullen Rutherford).
I adopt a rather medieval view of Thedas, meaning that the current concepts of social equality, morals and ethics are not prevalent. The Circles of Magi are not romanticized Hogwarts-like learning centres, but rather abusive institutions like the Residential Schools. Social stigmas, sexism, prejudice, corruption, violence and abuses common of the medieval era are present in this fanfiction, hence trigger warnings will be set at the beginning of each chapter.

Anders didn’t know if he should laugh or cry, stay or flee. Because in the white dress, soft wavy blonde hair spilling down her shoulders - even the blue paint against her face only added to the effect - she looked just like every Chantry depiction of Andraste. The effect was so startling that Anders dropped his bowl, and the spoon clattered across the campsite. Awestruck and mortified he accused, “you’re a con-man. Con-woman.”
The blue paint across the woman’s face was smudged, and had ended up on one of her cheeks. She raked her fingers through her hair and started re-plaiting it into two long matching braids. It was only when she was done that she sighed and turned to glare at him. “I remember it, the fighting, the war, the wars, the whole rotten Tevinter Imperium. And then I woke up in there covered in dragon blood and grit.” Her lips curled derisively, “I don’t know which one of them added the singing.”
