Gavin stood beside the chair next to Nines’ desk with his arms linked behind his back. He was still dressed in his CyberLife issued cop uniform; a high collared blue and black top with his model number and blue triangle on the front and blue band around his upper arm, with matching black trousers and comfortable shoes. His LED was glowing the same shade of blue as the digital parts of his uniform, and the shimmering white of the scar over his nose was still there.

Summary
Nines tries to back off to protect Gavin's secret. Gavin does not approve, at all and goes to deal with that. Cue communicating the only way he knows how, via anger and yelling. Which somehow mostly works out, with an audience judging but whatever. At least in the end Gavin knows why Nines turned into a dick and they might talk like adults, maybe.

Summary
Nines' inner peace dissipated the moment he decided to let the android in. Arguing with Gavin was futile - arguments never ended in wins, they ended in compromises, at best. Mostly unspoken and nothing Nines would usually aim for, however, getting something out of their arguments was better than getting nothing out of it.
Today, Nines failed to see the benefit of letting Gavin in, though.

“Oh my god, you’re actually shaking.” Gavin shoves his hand against Connor’s forehead, and it’s blissfully cool. This close, Connor can see every detail of the jagged scar across his nose, the skin never fully covering the chassis which has long since been welded closed. “Huh. No fever.”
“I appreciate your concern, but I’m this close to punching you right now,” Connor says. He’s also very close to crying, or throwing something, and Gavin’s not making it easier to keep a lid on his emotions. Belatedly, he realizes he’s still wearing nothing but underwear.
“Aw, man, you’re so goddamn polite. Don’t you ever want to let loose? Let people know how you really feel?”

A really good story with a pretty unique plot.
You don't often see Connor/Gavin done this way, and it's really engaging, though if you're looking for a romantic pairing for Gavin you'll be disappointed in the long run.
RK900 isn't used too much throughout the story, it is mostly focused on Reed and Connor. Their story is very action packed in places, and deals with a lot of dark themes.
I found it to be very well written, and I liked the characterisations of all involved.

So of course it gets all fucked up, of course, and things spiral out of control thanks to one annoying case. The bright side is that he has an annoying brother that will back him, and somehow has Nines that might honestly murder for him, Gavin is not going to ask just in case.

A reverse-au where androids are humans and humans are androids, set on the University of Michigan campus. Connor and Richard - aka Nines - Anderson, twin brothers and both sophomores at the college, are about to have their worlds turned upside down when two new androids enter their lives.
Connor finds himself under the constant watchful eye of an HK-700 caretaker model android, specially designed by Chloe Kamski and his father, David, in order to steer him - as everyone around him always seems to be putting it - 'in the right direction.' A response to his growing list of destructive habits, the HK has been sent to monitor Connor's every move. Will he learn to appreciate it's guidance, or turn inward even further at the notion of somebody - or something - caring about him?
Nines, working himself to the bone every day and night, has a chance encounter with a GV-200 model patrol android that he can't seem to stop running into, and he can't help but notice how more and more human the thing seems to act the more they meet. Will he report these suggestions of deviancy, or befriend - or more - the gangly android monitoring the streets outside of his apartment?
