Summary
When Arthur closes his eyes and whispers his last goodbye, he is a king and husband. A warrior and diplomat. He is the last true great king of Albion and the one that brought war upon his lands.
When he opens his eyes, he is still all of those things.
But he doesn’t understand.
For one, he is back in his chambers. There is no Guinevere, and the servant that comes through the door is decidedly not Merlin. Arthur asks the lad if he’s dead. The lad fetches Gaius.

Summary
In this AU, Arthur found out Merlin was immortal two years before his death. He spoke to the Fates, and they revealed certain truths to him. So now, in the time he has left, Arthur spends his days writing—1,500 letters to be exact. One letter for each year of Merlin’s life, asking him to do one thing that year until Arthur returns in the future.
But I’m using this idea to practice my writing. I hope you enjoy it.
(I post a letter every day. )

Summary
Everyone insisted that Arthur needed time to process, to accept that Merlin was gone. The only problem was that Merlin wasn’t.
Arthur didn’t know how to explain it without sounding like Uther when he’d seen Ygraine in the well, like he was losing his mind and looking for ghosts. He didn’t know how to look at his court and make them understand that Merlin had once told him about nature, about the sacred connectedness of the earth, and asked Arthur if he felt it. He didn’t know how to say that he hadn’t felt it back then, but that he did now. He felt it all. He felt Merlin in it.

Merlin saves Arthur's life at Camlann at the cost of his own. Merlin can't die, so it's not that simple.

Post Season 2 Episode 7: The Witchfinder.

Summary
An exploration of Arthur's relationship to touch.
Excerpt:
Touch.
Arthur wasn't a stranger to touch, not at all. Arthur had always been surrounded by people who would touch him all the time: Servant's who'd help dress and undress him, servant's who'd bath him, knight's who'd clap him on the shoulder, or his father who'd grant him a single touch with a gloved hand to acknowledge Arthur's accomplishments. Noble women who'd visit and reach out their hands for Arthur to take and kiss to pay his respects.
Arthur was not a stranger to touch, but he knew that it would always remain a privilege.Series

Summary
“What kind of ridiculous test is that? What does that prove?” Arthur spat.
He injected as much venom as he could into his words, desperate to convince himself that this was all just a silly little game. The fact that it was Merlin, of all people, who was here sitting across him certainly didn’t mean anything.
