Summary
Amidst the joy and peace that erupted across the three remaining nations post-war, the clearing fog revealed destroyed landscapes, displaced peoples, and a complete lack of stability. Lin signed up for the Unified Bending Taskforce as soon as the idea was proposed, she felt it was the best (and only) option for her to escape her ruined home and help those who were even less fortunate than her.
Zuko is now Fire Lord, and is trying his best to undo the damage dealt by his father and forefathers. He's pulled in a million different directions in meetings with benefactors, high-ranking officials, generals, and the like- by day. By night, he's reverted to his old vigilante ways and dons the Blue Spirit mask. Only then does he truly feel in touch with his people's needs and actually get to see past the reports tattled off to him in the palace.
When Lin is stationed in a small city right outside the Fire Nation's capital to lead construction for an Earthbender refugee village, she doesn't expect to receive the attention and assistance that she does from two new mysterious entities.
