Shauna knew how this worked, she had seen it firsthand in the wilderness with Melissa and Akilah. At some point around everyone's 17th birthday, there is a small chance of a potent mix of hormones and brain chemicals mixing and sending strange signals to the brain. Shauna always guessed it would be easy to notice, it was when it was out in the wilderness afterall. One day people would be acting like themselves, then the next they would drop hard and fast.
She always assumed Callie would be a neutral. There was never anything to suggest otherwise. Callie seemed to be up on all her milestones. She was walking and talking when the parenting books said she should be, and Jackie was always telling Shauna that Callie was ‘more perceptive’ than her peers. So no, Shauna never really expected Callie to present as a little. She expected even less that if that situation did ever arrive, that it would be Lottie-fucking-Matthews telling her everything.

This starts off during S02E09 "Leaky Faucets" and is written in an AU after that.
Callie had never planned to see Liam again, and when she does, Wyatt and Brandon are beating him up at the Mexican Festival. What happens, when Liam isn't content with just hurting Callie's credit scores? What happens, if he wants real revenge? The kind that will really break her down.
This fic is very "Explicit" in certain chapters and very "Teen and up Audiences" in almost any other. It is very angsty, but I spend a lot of time exploring how Callie deals with her family and those parts are definitely more 'drama' than anything else. I have given tags for a reason though, so please read through them if you have triggers that you would rather avoid.

She had always worn her heart on her sleeve. For better or for worse, she felt with every fiber of her being and didn’t bother trying to hide any of it. She still felt that way, just the idea of trying to bury her emotions made her stomach churn in disgust, but now the feelings were just so much more.
Everything was fine when she was happy; the highs she felt at a party, or when singing, or spending time with friends made her feel better than she had in years, maybe even ever. But the lows somehow felt even worse. Her fears, her anxieties and insecurities that she had always felt but managed to control now threatened to consume her.
