The drop from the outpost was intimidating. It always made 4 feel queasy, like she ate too much at the Crust Bucket, or the motion sickness she felt when riding the tower. The drop was far, and while she’d respawn if she slipped up, it still hurt, and so Marie always told her to stay away.

Left in charge of protecting a city while everything she knows starts to leave as well, Four grapples with overbearing parents, agitated Salmonids, and how it feels to be left in the dust while the rest of the world keeps moving.

It was safe to say that, from the eyes of Agent 4, that she wasn’t the biggest fan of her supposed predecessor. Maybe it was the way she seemed to carry herself. Maybe it was her demeanor around others. Or maybe it was the look agent 3 gave four when they first met. The look that sang many songs of distrust and disappointment. And yet, this was who she was meant to live up to? To be the successor of? With an aura so dark, the night sky could be put to shame? It felt pitiful. This was not what Agent 4 wanted. She wouldn’t be able to live with herself if she was. And, if she could help it, she would avoid it at all costs.

However, contact slowly dwindled over time until she hadn’t heard a thing from them in years. When the pain in her mind becomes too much to handle, she decides to escape society to clear her head.
