Summary
In the ninth year of the Trojan War, Odysseus and Diomedes are sent on a mission behind enemy lines to infiltrate the Trojans forces. There they would find a man who would give them information in exchange for his life.
But this story follows a slightly different path.
Instead of finding information, they find someone else vastly more interesting.

Summary
A fanfiction about the Odyssey, Odyssues manages some luck, and gets children along the way down his path of misfortune, and bad luck. These children stay by his side as he fights for his life, and theirs. He only has two wishes, first, and most important get back to Penelope, and Telemachus, second, and still important, keep these damn children alive.

Perhaps this was some sort of battle related trauma. Diomedes ended up sitting down besides Odysseus and let his shoulder bump against the sullen King. “Talk to me, friend.”
“...About what?”
“What’s going on? Polites is concerned, so are your men. Was it the blood? Or the men who fell? Rest assured, friend, none of yours fell today.”
“Do you think King Sisyphus fights against his punishment? Do you think the Fates would allow him, if he did?”
Flinching, Diomedes observed the change in Odysseus’ eyes. Instead of the colour of the sea, Odysseus’ eyes were taken over by a hue of red– only noticeable when observed in a certain angle but definitely present. Diomedes knew what caused a hue of red like that.
Odysseus had been touched by Ares’ Rage.

After the trojan war Odysseus is held accountable for the kidnapping and torture of Apollo's prophet, the prince Helenus. Problem is he did help kidnap him and he knew they got their information from him through ...war typical methods. But this guy was not nearly as involved as Apollo thinks.
So of course, Athena intervenes and tasks Odysseus of taking a bunch of trojan captives with him— putting them under his protection.
... which would be a nice thing i guess but this man is Odysseus and his journey home is complicated.
(This is in the omega verse because giving a man period cramps makes them 10x more relatable)
