Set during "Once Upon a Time in the Waste" after Catra finds out that Shadow Weaver defected to Bright Moon. Instead of walking away to open the portal, though, she stays. Predictably, it does not go well for Adora.
A follow-up to the last fic in this series, but definitely works as a standalone. If you've somehow read that fic (thank u so much mwah), this is basically Catra giving in to her intrusive thoughts! Woop woop!

Summary
What comes after the agony of your life falling apart in front of your very eyes? Is it a world of fire and sickness if you’re deemed bad enough, like Shadow Weaver always told them? And if it was, would she be sent there? She tried to think back on her life in those few seconds she had left. Was there anything she had done to deserve an afterlife of torture? She hadn’t killed anyone or cheated or anything like that. She hadn’t asked for the cards she’d been dealt in life, so really it wasn’t her fault for fighting her former best friend. So, no. Catra did not believe she belonged in Hell. But that didn’t necessarily mean she’d end up in Heaven with streets of gold and flower petals all around her.
Taking a final glance down, Catra saw she was almost on the ground. Her time had come, she was about to die.

But, as the Winter Formal steadily approaches, she realizes she has no one to bring. That is, until she notices a new girl in her English class. Her sophomore year my be the most interesting year of her highschool life.
TLDR: The She-Ra cast in highscool. Antics are had. Adora is closeted, Catra is not. Catra is mean. Lots of pining etc. I’m very much writing this for myself, at 1:30am, so don’t judge el oh el. Ummm they are girlfriends yes. wip fic. and many one off oc’s because the names in she ra are stupid. Happy ending yes, shitty writing even more yes.

Well, what kind of scientist would Entrapta be to deny such a study?
Or: Glimmer gets revenge on a certain feline by having Entrapta set up a hidden camera in the library to terrorize the magicat during her afternoon nap with a remotely controlled laser pointer, passing it all off as a justifiable science experiment. Predictably, both Bow and Adora get roped into spectating the event.
Things do not go as planned.

Adora was over it. She had grown tired of years of back and forth, back and forth. Her sword was drawn; Catra’s sharp claws were out, ready to pierce the heroine’s skin. Adora tried to wipe her mind of Catra and every worry she brought. It was futile, her presence was ingrained into her mind. One she wanted gone and found, one she couldn't seem to let go.
Catra couldn't get enough. One look into Adora's eyes and she spiraled, falling apart at the seams. Her brain muddled, her breath long gone as the realization dawned upon her, in all of its glory and to Catra’s horror, she had only one thought.
If Adora wouldn’t love her then hate was the next best thing.

The pookas on her tail gave an enraged shriek, and one launched itself towards her. She was priming herself to leap aside when a violet bolt caught the creature midair.
“Do you have to taunt them like that?” Micah asked. He shot a wary glare at the tree line and lowered his staff as the remaining pookas scrambled back into the forest.
“Something to remember me by,” Catra answered as they walked along the beach. “This place is gonna get boring once we’re gone.”
