Gillion sighs heavily and readies himself, reaching for a small knife at his waist. If only he had time to prepare something grander. He slices away a small part of the net tied around his hips, and approaches her. Jay gives him a confused look as he drops to one knee, holding the net up.
"Jay," he starts, uncharacteristically nervous, "I know we haven't known each other long, but with this piece of me, I offer myself to you, that we may be joined together in an act of love, if you choose to accept." He stresses the final few words, just in case the room needs them. Lunadeyis please understand, he prays silently, squeezing his eyes shut for a moment. This isn't what She envisioned marriage to ever look like, he's sure, but he can't envision a better way for them to get out of this room. Not without making a true commitment.
Jay's eyes are wide with confusion, but she smiles slightly as she takes the piece of netting from his hand, fingers brushing against his. "I do," she says, voice steady despite her clear uncertainty.
"Then by Lunadeyis, it shall be."
Or, after a failed kiss with Chip, Gillion marries Jay.

Jay nuzzles again into the collar of his coat, this time far more tired and far more genuine— there she stays for a long while, and he swears to the One True God that he hears her let out the smallest little chirp.
“Hm,” Chip guesses that he did in fact get what he wanted when he thought of serenading wandering birds, just not in the way he expected, no guitar though, and the bird could probably fold him like an omelet— though having said that, he isn’t in any hurry to scramble like an egg.
“What?” she turns at him again, annoyed and disgruntled at being torn from sleep again from his mumbles probably— and peering at him through one heavily lidded eye, her wings twitch lazily where they were lain flush against his sides, something he takes notice of.
He grins, more real and more carefree than he has in a long while, “Bird brain.”
Or, Chip (& Co.) exits the Black Sea with Jay, for reasons that Chip himself isn’t entirely happy with— and his anxious pacing across deck, wakes someone from within the hull.
—And well, if Chip gets forced to sleep and cuddled to oblivion by a bird, then he guesses he just has to roll with it.

"Are you gonna bite it?"
"I need to." She presses her tongue gently against one of her new fangs—courtesy of Anastasia—and grimaces. Her stomach rumbles. "I don't want to though."
"Yeah." He's startlingly warm against her. And he smells good. She inhales deeply, soaking in his scent. She can smell his blood so strongly she almost gets lightheaded. She wants so desperately to feed from him. But she can't. It's not safe. What if she hurts him? What if she tries and she just can't control herself? What if he thinks she's gross and disgusting and evil? What if watching her feed makes him realize that she's not worth it? What if-
"Hey. Breathe." He squeezes his arms around her middle. "It's okay, Jaybird."

Chip heard someone say something but ignored it, knowing they probably either weren’t talking to him or trying to get past him, so he just leaned a bit towards the railing and barely did anything else. It wasn’t like he was blocking the whole staircase. They could squeeze past him pretty easy, just like a few other people had in the past twenty-ish minutes.
“Hey, I’m talking to you.” A girl’s voice cut through his fog, her tone commanding respect in a way that had Chip sitting a bit more upright. He looked up to see a fiery-haired girl carrying what looked like the world's-most inconvenient-cardboard-box. She looked annoyed, and Chip had just enough sense to realize it was probably at him. “Can you find somewhere else to mope, maybe? People are trying to use these stairs.”
