Summary
It is said that at the dawn of their history, Hylians lived in the sky on floating islands and rode enormous birds. These are what the old texts say, though many now scoff at the idea.
This story tells of how the first of the many heroes of legend left his peaceful life to restore light to the land. How he crossed swords with Evil Incarnate to protect the goddess Hylia and all the peoples of the world, both above and below.
Those who dismiss this as mere folklore fail to realize that this chapter in their history is not only very much real, but also one of the most important.
This is where it all began.
This is the story of the first Hero, and how the Legends came to be.

Summary
The hero looked sad about what she had said. Not angry, just sad, which was the complete opposite of what she had intended.
The shield had the Hylian crest painted on the front, a pair of wings spread out beneath the Triforce. It was wooden, so it wouldn't do much against fire, but it was better than what Midna had been expecting.
Which was nothing. Now that she thought about it, she expected nothing from the hero other than for him to exist.

Summary
When twilight fell upon Hyrule, Link had to fullfill his destiny to become the chosen hero.
He was SO not ready for that.
Just the day before Link had been a regular ranch hand, helping around Ordon village and the next day he's suddenly told that he is the hero chosen by the gods, the only one who can save the kingdom from the evil clutches of the king of twilight.
All he wanted to do, was to protect his loved ones. In order to do so, he set out on the biggest journey of his life, along with his companion Midna who was constantly nagging at him but fighting alongside him all the same.
On their journey he learns to accept that the shoes (or in his case boots) of a hero might fit him better than he'd thought.

Hundreds of years after the events of we will shine on through, the second hero is born. Although uncertain of his own capabilities, the hero embarks on his journey to save Hyrule from the invading Twilight. Even though, sometimes, the journey feels more like a burden than a blessing.
