Summary
"This says you can turn into an animal,” McCullum snorted, “this bloke really just made some of these up, huh?”
“No, I can do that one,” Jonathan said absentmindedly, running a hand through his beard.
The hunter stilled beside him, turning to the Ekon with wide eyes, “you can…what?!”

Summary
Geoffrey has been out of Dr. Jonathan Reid's care for only a week and already he's trying to push himself even though he is still recovering. And how will the Guard of Priwen feel about their leader being so friendly with a leech? Leeches are, by nature, liars. Yet, oddly, McCullum appears to have placed his trust in one. Can these two continue to nurture the relationship the began or will external forces cause it to all come crumbling down around them?

Summary

Summary
Over the last week or so, Jonathan had been acting strangely. Edgar usually wouldn't have noticed a staff member acting unusually, but then again, he did have to admit that he kept a closer eye on the resident Ekon surgeon than his human subordinates. Not that he didn't trust Jonathan, per say, but more because his behavior was fascinating to observe.

Summary
Out of all the flawed characters in London, both those he healed and those he killed, none of them were like McCullum.
The hunter was so sure of himself, so sure of his cause, that he risked death to even attempt to bring Jonathan to his knees. It was fascinating and invigorating to be in the same room as the one man who knew exactly what he was and did not flee. Jonathan found himself willing to do anything to be in the man's presence, even if it meant he had to entangle himself further in the whims and wants of others; no, not others, just McCullum.

Summary
"We're going to help you."
"But...why?" Carina asked, a vulnerable note in her tone, "I'm a stranger, you don't know me."
Charlotte gave the other woman a soft smile, "do I really need a reason to help a fellow suffragette?" she joked lightheartedly, trying to assuage her nerves. Carina's hair was beginning to dry in the rapidly cooling air, and Charlotte realized that they'd been talking longer than she thought.
Or, a night of campaigning leads to an unexpected surprise.
*Now with bonus McReid chapter!

Summary
This isn't slash just Reid having some big feelings and going to the one person he considers a friend and who knows he's a vampire. I don't care much for Swansea and regardless I don't think he would've suited for a convo like this anyway—narrative foil my beloved.

Summary
Doctor Jonathan Reid liked to think he was a helpful person; assisting the needy was, after all, one of the reasons he'd chosen to study medicine. However, as he stood over McCullum's badly wounded body, while facing off with two Ekon, he thought dimly that maybe he was in over his head. There was little time for introspection however, with one of the Ekon lunging at the surgeon while the other circled back, looking for an opening to strike.

Summary
McCullum is drunk, and Reid was just passing by. He didn’t want to run into the Guard of Priwen’s commander again. Even less did he want to drag his unconscious body halfway across the city and explain himself to his subordinates.

Summary
МакКаллум пьян, а Рид просто проходил мимо. Он не хотел в очередной раз сталкиваться с командующим Стражами. Тем более не хотел тащить его бесчувственное тело через полгорода и объясняться перед его подчинёнными.

Summary
"Look, for what it's worth, I'm sorry about your mam. I know it's hard to lose your parents." McCullum stuffed his hands into his pockets as he continued, "however, I promised that I'd keep an eye on you. Who knows what a powerful leech like you might get up to in such a large city."
The vampire paused, his brain feeling whiplashed. "I...are you inviting yourself along to my mother's funeral?" He asked incredulously.
