A retelling of my childhood favorite animation. The grown up version. Or should I call this an adaptation? It closely follows the movie plot. We've all grown up and now the story should too.
Sophie Hatter leads a boring life and has done nothing exciting within the nineteen years of her existence. That is until news of a serial killer is on the prowl. Bodies are found with their heart ripped out. All fingers point to the new Sorcerer in town, Howl Pendragon, but when Sophie meets him, her heart is in trouble in a different way.
Disclaimer: I do not own the Howl's Moving Castle movie by Studio Ghibli, their script, or the novels by Diana Wynne Jones, her characters. You know the drill.

“Mmmm,” you say around his fingers. Howl groans again, moving them into a V-shape when your suction relaxes. His rings gently clack against each other as he opens and closes, repeating the motion a few more times before bringing them back together and out of your mouth. A thin trail of saliva attaches your lips to his fingers as he draws back, glistening in the sun before snapping. You wipe the back of your mouth, looking up at him and panting slightly.
“No, we’re not done,” Howl repeats softly.

10 years old is an older age to be found as a witch, but not impossible. After running away at ten, she takes the offer to become one of Madame Suliman’s students. There she meets the cowardly Howl,who tells her not to tell anyone that she’s seen him,but regardless,she sees a big brother in him, and he warns her multiple times that working for Suliman amounts to no good, but she ignores him, but slowly Mirabel sees what he sees. Mirabel doesn't want to be a witch,she never asked to be one, but now? All she wants is to be free. So she runs, just like when she was a ten year old child. She runs from Madame Suliman. Now, Madame Suliman doesn't like that, now forced to go into hiding as Navin Pendragon, and Navin Kenkings, Howl´s younger brother.
Then Sophie turns up.
Mirabel likes Sohpie.
She brings order and Howl seems to like her.
Oh wait Howl like likes Sophie.
