    Kanej Wensen - Wishes for Kaz and Inej

    In each of the stories in this series, I've explored what it looks like for Kaz and Inej to have a healthy romantic relationship, including a lot of intimacy and sex, as they figure out their issues together and make up for lost time. What if Kaz has spent considerable time working on himself, trying to figure out how to lower his armor, and invite touch that isn't pain? What does it look like for Inej to reclaim her own personal power and sexuality, finding freedom and feeling secure in herself? When Inej returns to Ketterdam for a longer stay, since her ship needs repairs, they've both grown enough to give a new iteration of their relationship a try. In later stories, I've expanded out a bit, given more background information, personal development, and created some new characters for Inej's crew and the Dregs. Including one very fierce cat.

They’d have pinned him down as a weakling, before the plague. But that was before. Now, in the miserable, scraping afterwards, not only was he alive, but half the gambling halls and gangs on the Lid were desperate to have him— or so Seeger said, anyway. Haskell didn’t know why this kid wanted to be in the Dregs, when the Razorgulls were practically throwing cash at him, but he wasn’t going to count his chickens. Maybe he preferred crows to gulls.

    A modern AU wherein Kaz, son of a paramilitary ghost, begins his life as a prepper on a farm near the town of Lij. When his father’s enemies find them, he moves on to the streets of Ketterdam where he learns the specialized skills of surviving in the Barrel. Many stories are included of those intense early years in the Barrel, but eventually Kaz is recruited as a field operative and computer hacker for a secret agency, unfettered by government connections, that handles dangerous, high-stakes missions.

    Along the way, Kaz meets and recruits each of our beloved Crows to a team rivaling any put together by Ethan Hunt of the Mission Impossible movie series!

Kaz leads his Dregs in a Barrel parade to the Rogues Gallery. Mesa has a chat with Tajed while she’s trying to work. Inej finds out some intel from Rosa Ortega, leader of the Liddies. Wylan has a run-in with another member of the Merchant Council. Jeter is Kaz’s assistant for the night, and brings the news of an incident. Oxana gets to witness a private debriefing of the Crows.
