Summary
A modern Catradora AU that includes roller derby! The characters go through experiences in their adult lives while also sharing the love of one of the best sports ever.
Catra, an employee at Horde LLC, is on a mission to buy up properties in the city of Etheria to convert to luxury condos. Adora has recently moved back to Etheria to help her friend Glimmer with her nonprofit organization, Bright Moon, which renovates old buildings to create resource centers for the community.
After a close-matched scrimmage between Catra's and Adora's roller derby teams, their paths keep unexpectedly crossing. Will corporate Horde succeed in gentrifying all the lower-income neighborhoods in Etheria, or will Adora be able to protect the interests of the local communities? Which team will come out on top when their personal battles transition onto the track?

Summary
What comes after the agony of your life falling apart in front of your very eyes? Is it a world of fire and sickness if you’re deemed bad enough, like Shadow Weaver always told them? And if it was, would she be sent there? She tried to think back on her life in those few seconds she had left. Was there anything she had done to deserve an afterlife of torture? She hadn’t killed anyone or cheated or anything like that. She hadn’t asked for the cards she’d been dealt in life, so really it wasn’t her fault for fighting her former best friend. So, no. Catra did not believe she belonged in Hell. But that didn’t necessarily mean she’d end up in Heaven with streets of gold and flower petals all around her.
Taking a final glance down, Catra saw she was almost on the ground. Her time had come, she was about to die.

She finally had Adora. She-Ra’s sword. Adora made it almost too easy for Catra to capture her and return her to the Fright Zone. To Lord Hordak. Catra’s plans were finally being set into motion.
At least until Hordak revealed plans of his own. Ones that involved Adora…She-Ra.
And not Catra.
This wasn’t what Catra had wanted. She never wanted Adora to forget her, to be wiped from her memories completely. But she was no match for Hordak and the entire Horde army on her own. She was no match for She-Ra.
Catra would soon find herself looking for help in the one place she thought she hated most.

"Glim, I really didn’t think this separation would last this long,” Adora breathed into the phone as she closed her eyes. “Cat’s my home Glim, and I thought I was hers.”
Adora’s bent her head forward to press against her desk, feeling more hopeless than ever. Glimmer was silent—for once—on the other end of the line. She picked up one of her many fountain pens and twirled it around her fingers.
“Honestly, Adora I never thought you two would be apart for this long either.” Glimmer’s voice was filled not only with sadness but with something worse—doubt.
“You don’t think we are going to stay together, do you? Or I guess—get back together.” Adora asked her closest friend. The silence was deafening.

Adora and Catra, childhood friends and college sweethearts, have been separated for a year and are on the verge of divorce. Although they manage to co-parent their eight-year-old Finn, it seems that all hope is lost for their marriage. Adora and Catra try to navigate their separation and recover at least part of what they lost.

"Shadow Weaver." She spits out, eyes blazing. She struggles against the restraints, her muscles bulging, but it's no use. "Just wait until the Alliance hears about this."
"Oh but, Adora. You've defected willingly." Shadow Weaver croons. It makes both Catra and Adora look at the sorceress intently. "In fact, you haven't defected at all—you've always been part of the Horde."
Adora furrows her brow. "What are you talking about? I've always lived in Bright Moon." Her voice is shaking now, her eyes darting between the sorceress and Catra.
Shadow Weaver lets out a low laugh. "Correct. But when I'm done with you, that won't even be a distant memory. All you'll remember is being my good little foot soldier and wanting to serve Hordak."
"I will never willingly serve the Horde."
Weaver's laugh is cold and deep like it comes from somewhere other than her chest. "Oh, you will. Once I take away every memory you have of ever being in the Alliance."

Kyle waits for the words to register, as Lonnie’s default response to him is more of a matter of reflex than it is of interest. They must, because after a moment she looks up at him and gapes.
“What?”
“I told you--”
“Who? Who’s datin’?” She reaches out and shakes him. Kyle can’t get the words out for a minute, as he’s too busy having his organs relocated to different points in his body. Then he pulls himself free and gasps.
“Catradora.” The words come out all strangled; he’s half sure his brain has moved around and is residing in his armpit. “They’re the thing. Never do that again, by the way, I can’t breathe.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Catradora. Ribs. Oh god, my ribs--”
“Kyle,” Lonnie says, with all the violence and rage of a girl whose only source of gossip is what weapons were shipped in, and who blew up the dining hall this time, “who's datin’?”
“Catra. And Adora. They’re the thing.”

It doesn't completely suck, which means it's no surprise when a blonde with an unexplained ability to see through Catra's human disguise comes along and upheaves just about all of it.
