Summary
The whole reincarnation-thing is a cycle. That's kind of the definition of reincarnation. Still, some of the Links wish that the cycle wouldn't repeat itself quite this quickly. What do you MEAN Ganon can come back this many times in one lifetime? Surely he got the memo of one (1) Ganon for every one (1) hero? Surely it can't be right that ALL world-ending events have to happen during these nine guys' lives? Where's the justice in that? Yes, we're looking at you, Hylia.
The Chain has just finished their adventure during LU, when they're called back into action. Apparently, the gods aren't done with them yet. Only this time, Legend wound up getting kidnapped along with most of the Zeldas, while Fable has accidentally joined the Chain

Standing behind the new hero was…another him, only slightly different. And also a ghost. That part was very important to note.
The ghost wore the same clothing as Wild, but his hair was much shorter, neater and more restrained. His skin was smooth and nearly unblemished. Though his expression came off as blank and severe, Wind could see the sadness that pulled at the corners of his eyes, the weight that curved his shoulders slightly inwards. He hardly moved.
OR: The version of Wild that died in the Calamity follows him around. Wind can see ghosts. These two facts are not unrelated.

After failing to save a village from monster attacks, the chain found themselves thrown into a bad thunderstorm, forced to take refuge in a small isolated cottage. Prior events weighed heavily on their minds and it became clear that some members were getting angsty given their circumstance. To lighten the mood, some of the younger boys came up with an idea for a drinking game, but perhaps it wasn’t that effective for one member in particular.

Okay, maybe Wind was being a little mean. Hyrule was a friendly guy. Despite his Third Rank, he was one of the best magic users out of any Link that Wind knew. He probably would’ve been a bit bitter about it, but Hyrule was so kind and sincere that it was difficult to stay upset for long. No, having Hyrule over wasn’t a problem at all.
The problem was that wherever he went, there was also Legend. And Legend was an asshole.

In a modern society where things like monsters and crime are considered problems of the past, an organization of elite soldiers are needed to keep the status quo in place. And when one of them starts acting oddly, well...it's only natural that the others would want to help. If only the person in question wasn't such a secretive and stubborn jerk.-

The only way Sky and Time seemed at all alike was during times of stress, and even then, it was only skin-deep, with matching pairs of purple undereye bags and twin tremors in each large, calloused hand.
So when Wind noticed (with a little chuckle and a point) that they made the same face upon being informed of this era’s rapidly approaching date, it settled heavily in both their stomachs as they met each other’s eyes, but neither of them could quite put their finger on exactly why.

The chain is whisked away to Sky's era just in time to prepare for the Festival of Light, one of Sky's most beloathed celebrations. He needs to find time that he doesn't have to prepare, and resorts to losing sleep - something that doesn't go unnoticed by Time.
