The heat of the fire was already starting to make her sweat, even through the protection of the turnout gear. Three other firefighters rushed past, running back into the blazing warehouse. She heard another firefighter yelling that there were at least twenty people still inside, and fear washed over her body as she thought about how the hell everyone was going to get out in time. Buck threw on his helmet and oxygen tank quickly as her eyes followed his every move, his legs making long strides towards the burning building. “Cora!” The woman’s head whipped towards Bobby, who was staring back, a reassuring smile on his face as she grabbed the rest of her gear and threw it on, rushing into the building behind him.
“I need a little help here.” The helmet on her head shifted a little as she turned the direction the voice had come from, not knowing who the hell was speaking or if they were even talking to her. The voice sounded deep, obvious that it was a man, and it sounded like he was struggling. She stopped in her tracks when she noticed the girl no older than ten being carried by a man in a full black outfit, his eyes covered by a piece of cloth.
“You have got to be fucking kidding me.”

However, Yelena is going to quickly decide that the power of friendship doesn't just extend to this team: there's a young, overpowered vigilante swinging through New York that clearly has just as many issues as any of them, and hard as it is to make new friends, the team's going have to if they're going to figure out how to get around Valentina's new directive: to aid Mayor Fisk in his city-wide vigilante crackdown.
Basically all the old avengers fics where they'd adopt one emotionally broken Peter Parker but instead, it's the Thunderbolts and they are, unfortunately, just as messed up as this poor kid is. They're going to figure it out, though.
In other words, 5 times the New Avengers tried to learn something about Spider-Man, and 1 time Peter Parker let them into his life.
