The past twelve floors play back in his mind. One, two, three went without a hitch. Four he was hit twice, healed by Cosmo once. Five, they found a bandaid. Six and seven he couldn’t find a machine. Eight had twisted Pebble, two toons died. Nine had twisted Gigi. One toon died. Ten had two passive twisteds. Eleven they lost two more toons to Vee, and Shrimpo was hit again.

Shrimpo finds himself in an unfamiliar environment, filled to the brim with hostiles and hardly a trace of humanity to be found. He’s soon met with a group of gruff Dwarves, whose rather noisy arrival draws out a bit of a problem.
Meanwhile, the dwarves have been busy. There’s been a severe increase in spacial rifts for unknown reasons, popping up all over Hoxxes. They go on a mission to investigate a detected instability, but find themselves returning with an aggressive teenager instead of information. This does not make Mission Control happy, let alone Management.

"The bloody Rivals weren't screwing around when introducing this abomination to the caves of Hoxxes. Few dwarves have met this horror and lived to tell the tale. Those who make it back alive and still have their wits about them report being lured in by cries for help from their fellow dwarves, only to be ambushed by this monstrosity. It's a near unstoppable beast that seeks to lure in, hunt down and eliminate our workforce, and management advices to flee on sight. If you have no other options, prepare for a fight, bring your most powerful firearms and keep your distance."

I wanted to do something introspective, something that's inspired by solo missions. What the game feels like without friends, comrades, without the fun. What it feels like to drink at the abyss bar alone.

“You fuckin’ idiot Scout!” Gunner shouted at him, his hands coming up to press against Scout’s bloodied torso. Already he could feel the pain begin to dissipate, leaving only a dull throb in its place.
“Might try and get myself downed more often Gun.” Scout grinned at him, heaving himself off the rough floor. Gunner shook his head and pushed red sugar into his hands. “Wouldn’t mind having you on top of me again.”He himself didn’t even know what spurred him to say that. His cheeks warmed as Gunner stared at him incredulously before huffing a laugh and helping him onto his feet. His whisper against his ear made him shudder.

But whatever this is, it definitely isn’t Nitra. No, this specific shade was more… unsettling. It seems to crackle and pulse with energy, its facets reflecting the light of the cave unlike anything he's ever seen on Hoxxes before. “You seein’ this?”
“Barely.” The transmitted audio crackles slightly. “Could you get a closer look?”
