Falling into bed with your ex is never the right choice, especially when you haven't seen each other in three-hundred years. Bonnibel can't seem to help herself, and Marceline has no intention in controlling her urges.
Relationships are hard, doing things right is harder. Trying to fix what's broken can seem impossible when you can't keep your hands off each other, or when your partner expects the world of you.
Rewriting the series to have Marceline and Bubblegum's relationship intentional from the start, complete with comic books, lore books, and some video games. Starts shortly after S1E12: Evicted! Planning on playing with some pretty dark themes. Thanks for the read!

Once upon a time, Bonnibel Bubblegum was the prodigy of the Ooo Guild of Sorcerers. Mentored under the best, descended from past High Magicians, and rapidly making new arcane discoveries, she was set to be the next great sorcerer of the entire magical world. She and her fiance, the demon-vampire-rockstar Marceline, were going to have a summer wedding.
And then one day, everything changed. She disappeared into her laboratory, and came out with an immensely powerful homunculus and a grim determination on her features. The chaos that ensued left Finn Mertens without an arm, Kara Strong missing, Princess Phoebe of the Fire Realm in a coma, and Bonnie gone in the wind, the most powerful magical artifact ever known - The Enchiridion - in her grasp.
Now, a year later, the fugitive sorcerer has returned in bloody spectacle, determined to achieve her enigmatic goals. It's up to those who once loved her most to track her down, and stop her, the burning question of her ultimate motivations lingers in their minds. Marceline and co. find themselves racing across Ooo to track her down, all while her trail of destruction in the name of the 'Greater Good' grows larger, and something ancient festers in the darkness.

Multi-chapter fic that's like a slow burn + breakup except they don't exactly ever date. Be warned, this fic will eventually include the eye Incident. Nothing graphic, but a bit angsty. Anyway, I'll put a warning on the specific chapter for that.

A few weeks had passed after the defeat of Golb and all of Ooo had attained peace...for now. Princess Bonnibel Bubblegum continued ruling the Candy Kingdom, Finn and Jake continued to be her most trusted heroes. Nothing was any different; except maybe the addition to her family, Aunt Lolly and also...her girlfriend, Marceline, Heir to the Nightosphere and the Vampire Queen. Said Vampire Queen would often stay at the Candy Kingdom to accompany her, then sometimes, they'll spend time at her home inside the cave with Simon Petrikov and Pep But (who was cured from being a baby). Yep, everything was good, given it was after Golb's banishment.
Suddenly, there came news from the Fire Kingdom, more specifically, from Phoebe, about a supernatural being residing in the border in between the Fire and Candy Kingdoms, she had asked them to check it out because only one could possibly reason with this creature, Phoebe believes:
