“Then give me an alternative, Seleukos!” he says, pushing himself upright to match them, face twisting. “Give me some other way, any other way! We as the Fourteen have a duty to this star and I, for one, intend to ensure there is still a star to have a duty to when this is all over.”
“To the star?” Azem asks, and laughs, disbelieving and jagged and aching. “What about the people? The lives? What use is the damn star without the life that makes it beautiful?”

None of them had ever truly had a chance, back then. But now here she stands, so close to silencing Meteion’s song of oblivion and proving Hydaelyn’s, Venat’s faith true, showing the world to a new future, and she wants - has, almost - to show them it’s still possible. A long time ago Emet-Selch asked her for an alternative, and now she can give him one.

Summary
When Lahabrea is called away on urgent business just before the Convocation is to convene, Kairos and Plexaure (twin souls who share the seat of Azem) cease the opportunity in the name of chaos.
As one does.
Today was special. Lahabrea had been called away on urgent business just before they went into session, and Kairos had seen an opportunity. As with most opportunities, the Azems had seized it with extreme prejudice; at Kai’s suggestion, Plex had temporarily fused the two seats together with no small amount of malevolent glee. The throne-like chairs now stood back-to-back, with Kairos in one and Plex in the other, on a rotating platform of Plexaure's own making.
It was the best idea they'd ever had.

At the grand old age of six years old, Hades decided that he was going to be the next president. Reality forced him to wait almost three and a half decades, devoting every moment of his life to his pursuit of that goal and that goal alone. He expected setbacks, fierce opposition, and backstabbing/'political maneuvering.'
What he never expected was the popstar named Hythlodaeus, nor the whirlwind the man would create in his life.

Summary
Hundreds of thousands of years ago, as the Final Days loomed ever closer, a group of scientists called the Convocation of the Fourteen began development of Project Hydaelyn, with its sole intended purpose being to bring salvation to the dying world. Alas, the subject of this project, codenamed Azem, was not completed in time, and was left to slumber for eons as the rest of the world was plunged into chaos. They would have slumbered for countless eons more were it not for the efforts of the Scion Organization attempting to reawaken the fruits of the long-lost Project Hydaelyn.
This is Azem’s story.

Summary
Broken by grief inflicted during the Final Days and tempered to Zodiark besides, Azem - an Unsundered Ascian - discovers the fragmented soul of their lost best friend in Corrain, the Warrior of Light. Unable to stay away from him, Azem slowly learns how to live again among the loss, and how to look to the future instead of stay mired in a nostalgia- and pain-tinted view of the past that never truly existed.

Ocean blue eyes zoomed into her naked neck and Harumi felt a deep thump in his chest. He remembered, then, how Kiyo seemed to have an interesting obsession with his own neck — and, as he unconsciously bit his inner cheek and deafened to the rest of her conversation, he suddenly understood her better than ever.

Summary
Hyperion refuses to admit Hythlodaeus and Hades are closer than they are.
He's not worthy of Hythlodaeus' attention as far as Hyperion's concerned; what with his absolutely abhorrent lack of social skills, patience, and a number of other things they could come up with if given the opportunity to list. Hythlodaeus can do better.

Summary
…Ridiculous, really. Spending so much time to ensure another is happy just for the sake of it. Hythlodaeus should focus more on his own duties and himself. Or, perhaps, focus on the way his soul flutters when he’s with Azem, so often wishing, hoping that maybe, just maybe, he himself is the cause of it. Dreaming of, by chance, having Azem talk about him to others just as much as he talks about them to him.
…Ah. There it is again, the thoughts his mind digs up whenever he’s alone with time to think.

As they continued to argue, Isra blinked, suddenly finding herself at the small blackboard the formulas had been written on, making a few quick strokes and adjusting the formula.
"It's neither base aetheric interference nor environmental, the formula's coefficient needs to be adjusted here and here," she found herself saying, or trying to say. As always when she tried to speak, it came out in a broken whisper, but somehow every student around her seemed to hear. She finished and stepped back. "It should work now--" she blinked, and suddenly the feeling was gone, and it took all her strength to keep herself from falling to her knees as a wave of exhaustion overwhelmed her. She leaned against the wall instead and found herself fighting off the urge to dry heave.
She hadn't understood a single word of what she'd just said.
