    He wishes they could stay here forever, that he could just be Zelda’s assistant. But they can’t. Zelda hasn’t brought it up yet, but Link knows they’ll be leaving for Castle Town in the next few days.

    Next week is the Exhibition Tournament, and they both have to be there. Zelda has to hand off a new shiny Honedge (which they’re both unhappy about), and he has several matches he absolutely cannot skip out on, no matter how much he wants to.

    And Goddess, he wants to.

    “Not that the rest of Hyrule acts like it,” Purah mutters. Impa nods and eyes Link wryly.

    “Do you think giving us this Honedge will make up for how the Sheikah have been pushed aside for centuries?”

    Link doesn’t hesitate. No.

    Link went to Vah Naboris because Urbosa called them there. They didn't know why, but it might've been important. When they found Urbosa, she was sitting with Zelda sleeping next to her. They had a conversation but everything went south after she snapped her fingers

    OR: this follows the cannon of memory #6 of BoTW up until Urbosa snaps her fingers. Link is afraid of lighting so he has a mild breakdown about it but Zelda and Urbosa help him calm down

    Of the others travelling alongside, many seemed lost about things that felt obvious: the Triforce, the Master Sword, even Ganondorf! But the library in Lorule Castle was still mostly intact, and Ravio and Hilda knew every inch.

    Surely they could find answers there.
    Surely there weren't more surprises waiting for them, or things unsaid that would affect everyone. Right?

    (But nothing was ever that easy.)

    Zelda had a lot of scars.
    She didn’t, however, have a lot of injuries. No; these scars belonged to someone else. To her soulmate.
    She often wondered how her soulmate got hurt all the time. What could another eight-year old possibly be doing to have all these scrapes and bruises? Zelda never got her own scrapes or bruises! She used to, when she was much younger and would play with the other kids in the courtyard. But when she turned seven, her father had told her that running about and screaming was unladylike and unbecoming of a princess.
    So, Zelda never got her own bruises or scrapes anymore. She didn’t mind-- they hurt a bit, and her soulmate had plenty for the two of them. Her parents minded though. She was made to wear dresses with long sleeves and skirts that trailed on the floor during even the hottest days of the summer. She was told that these scars weren’t ladylike or becoming of a princess, either.
    Zelda decided that she didn’t want to be ladylike or a princess much longer.
