For the duration of the party, he struggles to free his mind of the nasty images by replacing them with his carefully perfect ones.
Recall how Chandler chastises Kent for sporting a swollen eye and bandage after his fight with Mansell during Series 4. I was sad that Chandler was harsh to Ken, so wrote this. Not to make a happy ending, but to explore what Chandler might have been thinking when he humiliated Kent like that. I don't know.
