Tony Stark loses his parents, he loses Jarvis, and now he just works his life away.
At least until an old fling comes back with important news, giving Tony the decision of whether he wants to be a part of raising a kid. But what kind of father could he be?Part one of 'A Family -Plus a Father' series. This one will be focused on before Peter was born, and him as a baby, mostly through Tony's eyes, but the occasional outside perspective. I will be writing one-shots (maybe the occasional longer) all the way up until Peter becomes Spider-man. Also, because Tony is a father in this, there will be a lot of things in the Marvel universe that won't happen or happen differently, because I believe that if he was actually a father he and the people around him might make different decisions. (And also, I just don't want to get into some of those things, haha.)

For a moment, Tony just stood there, frozen, his gaze transfixed on the mess he had made, standing there as if he was afraid to move. The absurdity of the situation made Tony want to laugh but instead, he felt his throat tightening up a different sensation taking hold.
God, he was actually crying.
The realisation hit him slowly — he never cried and definitely not over something as stupid as spilt milk.
Or; Tony has been overworking himself in the lab and in a sleep-deprived state manages to spill some milk. But instead of cleaning it up, he ends up crying in front of a shocked Steve who has never seen Tony cry before.

Tony Stark felt a hand on his shoulder shaking him again as his dreamworld slowly fell away.
That wasn’t right… he lived alone. There shouldn’t be anyone shaking his shoulder to wake him up. He forced one eye open despite the fact that there appeared to be weights latching onto his eyelids trying to keep them closed.
The blurry sight of what looked like… a keyboard, yes, that was definitely the letter ‘j’, slowly swam into view. And was that the tail end of a spanner his cheek was resting on? Ah. No, it was a pen shaped like a spanner. That made more sense. A cheek resting on a pen-spanner resting on a keyboard.
He clearly wasn’t at home.
A tale of how a chronically overworked and underfed Tony slowly learns how to live life with a little bit of help from his friends and how strangers on a train will not always try to murder you. Hopefully.
