Summary
Dream and Karl haven't hung out in forever, so they decide to meet up again to spend some one on one time together. Unfortunately, Dream's heat randomly starts way too early and it triggers Karl's rut, so the two spend the week helping each other out. Dream is sure to use birth control, not wanting to have pups yet and certainly not with an alpha as busy as Karl, but what happens when the birth control doesn't work? What happens when he finds out he's pregnant when he's home in Florida again, far away from the alpha that impregnated him in the first place?

More often or not, after spending the night together, riding off their drunken high and fucking one another through the mattress, perfumed with aggression and obsession and admittedly far too much lust, they would wake up alone. Cold. Sober, like they had wished they were the night before, where they could know that they didn’t do this because they were drunk, but because they sincerely wanted to.
Yet, despite it all, they were homesick. Homesick for someone who they hadn’t seen in years, someone who they used to make cookies with at three in the morning, someone who they used to play card games with and scroll through Twitter with in silence.
Homesickness wasn’t fun, but they managed.

Karl has been aware of his asexuality since he was young, but he always felt like there was more to it than just that. He knew he wanted some sort of bond with someone one day, but he didn't want it to be romantic, even if this bond included doing some stereotypical romantic things like kissing and physical touch. Was that even a thing? Can he have that or is he just broken and unfixable? George helps him though, because he too seems to be broken in the same way that Karl is. It seems like George wants that same kind of non-romantic bond. But what happens when Karl is wrong and it turns out George is in love with him?

Karl Jacobs struggles with winter weather; only the thought of his friend, Nick, keeps him warm. With small misheard moments and Karl's spotify replaying one song, his heart starts to blossom more for Nick. The only problem is the distance keeping him from telling his best friend the truth.
As the music starts to fade, he hears the soft ukulele plucking begin to play.
Every passing minute is a thought of you not in it…
He winces, gripping his phone tightly, scared to look at his screen again. As he pulls it out, he stares at the screen, blinded by the sudden light.
I can’t find familiar without you…
He curses under his breath; first Sweater Weather, now Bon Iver. He can’t escape how he feels. He presses the pause button, sitting up and resting his arms across his knees. His upper left arm is covering his mouth as he tilts his hand to show his screen.
As he watches it, ready for it to fade back to black, he jumps at the sudden ringing, dropping his phone in the sand. He curses at himself again, stumbling his hands through the sand as he grabs his phone back up and quickly answers the call.
“Hey!”
