“Telemachus,” the dark figure thunders. “I am your-”

“My father, yeah, I know,” Telemachus interrupts, rolling his eyes and retracting his lightsaber as it becomes clear their fight to the death is becoming more of a conversation. “You don’t need to be so dramatic about it.”

    Summary

The screaming stopped as suddenly as it began. Telemachus held his breath, praying fervently that whatever monster had come across them wouldn’t notice him in the tree, would keep moving.

A new figure stepped into his line of sight, blocking the view of the corpse beneath him. Instead, Telemachus locked eyes with a woman, bathed in golden light. Flowing robes draped across her limbs, moving unnaturally against the wind. Glowing bands hugged the length of her forearms, matching chains weaving in and out of her dark hair.

Her painted lips curved into a smile as she tilted her face up towards him.

“Hello, little one. Are you lost?”

Or, The fates lead Telemachus to Circe's island mere weeks after the end of the Trojan War when raiders rip him from the shores of Ithaca. He is plagued with dreams of soldiers and storms far out of reach, until a cryptically familiar stranger arrives in search of his missing men.

    Summary

“You look just like your father.”

For as long as Telemachus could remember, those words seemed to have followed him since his birth. He heard them traded among the court, the servants, the townsfolk — Mama had even told him, once, that it had been her first thought when he was born, that he was undeniably his father's son.

He had always delighted in that title. Odysseides, the son of Odysseus — even if he had far too few memories of his father to truly remember what he was like.

(The four times Telemachus was compared to his father, the one time his father compared him to his mother).

    Summary

No, he didn’t wish the suitors would leave him be. Just one in particular. The one.

“Little wolf,” sang a deep voice from one of the many dining tables littered throughout the hall. “Won’t you come over here?”

Telemachus has been alive for twenty years, and in those twenty years, he’s had to face endless dismissal from his mother’s desperate suitors. He can deal with the condecension. He can deal with their blatant disregard.

But what this Antinous guy is doing? That, he can not deal with. For the first time ever, Telemachus almost wishes things would return to the status quo. Almost.

In his defense, the little wolf schtick is pretty annoying.

    Odysseus blinks back.

The boy glances down, up, down again, down towards the scar—Then his eyes snap up to Odysseus. There seems to be a sort of confusion in his eyes.

    ...

Odysseus almost barks at him. “You are a skinny, underdeveloped thing. Either you are a child who has grown far beyond the reasonable height or you are a peasant boy starved of food.”

“I eat plenty well,” the boy snaps back. “And it’s not my fault you’re barely breaking past 5’5.”

“What in the Hades does ‘five-five’ mean?” Odysseus asks, throwing his head back in annoyance. What in the hells was he doing, arguing with this kid? He might be going insane. “You know what? Get out. Leave this stupid room. I need to fucking relax without a whiny voice in my ear.”

    Summary

Odysseus is free. Athena has successfully battled for his release, despite the heavy price of Zeus’s wrath. Hermes talks to Calypso, and she agrees to let him leave.
Only…he doesn’t. In fact, Odysseus doesn’t attempt to leave at all. It takes a bit of sleuthing on Athena’s part to realize that Odysseus doesn’t want to leave.
He thinks he’s already home with his wife and his infant son. Calypso’s enchantment gives him everything he wanted, and why would he risk Posedin’s wrath? He’s already home, in Ithaca.
Of course, Athena would like to threaten Calypso with the might of Olympus and demand she dispel the enchantment, but that approach carries certain risks.
So instead, Athena forms a plan.
Enter Telemachus, Othygia’s newest washed up mortal.

    Summary

He turned his head back a few moments later and his eyes looked sharp with worry, more so than before. Telemachus remembered when he was afraid of those eyes, so full of monstrous looks, peering through his very soul knowing everything all at once. They were still sort of like that but they weren't as scary as they were before.

Telemachus doesn't know how he was ever scared of them in the first place.

When his eyes went back to Odysseus, he smiled at him, "Come on. Dinner's ready."

Odysseus, in this attempt at avoiding leaving his family alone to go to war, composes a vaguely mythologically accurate plan to evade the draft. Summary

Telemachus is sure he is dead. He’s certain. He’d stepped foot in the palace, and he’d been ambushed. Antinous and Eurymachus had been the ones dealing most of the damage, sitting on his chest to leave him breathless, then punching the shit out of him, until blood oozed from practically every hole on his face.

    Telemachus has his mother’s patience.

He carves out Antinous’s throat, making him choke on his blood, and then he draws lines across his chest and back, feeling pleasure in the way the blood spills. It is cathartic, and he revels in the feeling. When Antinous finally falls to the ground, finally not breathing, Telemachus turns and smiles at his father.

But he also has his father’s rage.

    Summary

“I’ll teach you all the things you ought to know. I’ll build you into a figure no one can call pathetic. And, more than that,” her lips turned up into an almost sinister grin, “I’ll introduce you to the love you’ve never had.”

“Like…” Antinous squinted at her. “Like a matron goddess?”

In a world filled with people all assigned a perfect match, Antinous is an anomaly. He has no soulmate, and no future. Then he comes face to face with the love goddess Aphrodite, and everything changes.

He’s given the opportunity to court the queen of Ithaca herself. More than that, his forsaken soulmate is supposed to be in these castle walls. And, if he’s lucky, he can get that high-and-mighty prince out of his way once and for all.

    Summary

Odysseus stood in front of him, bow steady in his blood-soaked fingers, arrow notched and aimed between Telemachus’ eyes. Telemachus had spent years studying the man before him, comparing the two of them. He’d lost count of the number of times people in the palace had told him that he looked just like his father had at his age.

Now he wondered if he would grow into Odysseus’ rage, if his own eyes would harden the way his father’s had, if he’d grow to enjoy the taste of blood if he only lived another twenty-five years.

    Summary

After finally arriving in Ithaca and reuniting with his family, Odysseus does not notice at first. Sure, it was weird that most of his old clothes, which he left behind, were missing but he assumed a maid had stored them in the storage halls. Well until those were recovered, he just had to make do with the garments he had still found in his closet, which were a bit big on him. During their first breakfast as a complete family after 20 years of being forced apart though, he finally does notice: His sons garments look suspiciously similar to his old missing clothes!

Telemachus is nervous of his father being home. Of course he feels elated and cannot wait to get to know him but does he even want him as his son? After all, he could not even protect his mother from a handful of suitors while his father managed to end their terror all by himself?

Based on a headcanon I shared on Tumblr. You can read the post here.

    Summary

When Odysseus invites his friends from the war for a celebration, Telemachus expects very little. Old men laughing about old stories and drinking until Ithaca runs out of wine. What he doesn’t expect is a man his age. He doesn't expect to take notice of him, to watch him, to want him but he does.
