”Holy shit, I sound crazy, don’t I?” He sends her a defeated expression. “You don’t believe me at all. You think I made up some weird parasocial relationship with a bunch of random celebrities.”
She clears her throat. “You don’t sound crazy, Eddie. I don’t use that word. I often see people who struggle, and these friendships sound like they’re very real to you.”
”They sound real to me,” he parrots. “What a nice way to say they’re all in my head.”

Eddie comes home from Derry a different man, ready to make a clean break from his old life. He’s always been direct, so he tells Myra about recent events, so that she can understand why things have to change. Myra, however, isn’t about to let him go so easily. Very few students raised their hands, but Richie was mildly startled to see Eddie, Ben, Stan and Bill raise their hands. It almost made him raise his own just to fit in with the group, but he was so surprised that he felt frozen.
Eddie was giving him a look, as if silently asking if he was trying to be funny, which just made Richie feel even more lost.
OR: Richie realizes guys can be assaulted by girls, and remembers something terrible that happened to him a year prior. Thankfully, he has friends to help him through it (especially a certain redhead who has no problem punching said-girl in the nose)

There were many reasons Richie had wished he was an Alpha. For one thing, finding out he couldn’t mate-bond with the boy he had been in love with since Kindergarten was crushing, to say the least. He had planned on keeping his feelings suppressed, knowing that most Omegas ended with Alphas, leaving Betas to just kind of settle for each other. There were only ever a few rare instances in which a Beta could end up without another Beta -- and it was usually with an Alpha, like Ben and Beverly.
Right now, though… right now Richie craved the rage, the powerful possessive dynamic that would send an Alpha into a frenzy. He had seen it in Beverly before, the only Alpha of their pack. Partially, he wanted it to fuel him and use it to fuck up the Bowers’ pack royally. A more depressing thought was that, despite how deeply enraged and sickened Richie was feeling by this, he felt his Beta emotions could not match the heinous thing done to his best friend.
His hatred and sickness just didn’t feel like enough.

If something was wrong, he should’ve been able to come to us in the first place because he’s our friend and we love him!”
They all went completely silent, nothing but guilt on their faces.
Bev looked at Richie regretfully. “And it’s on us that you don’t know that.”
Fresh tears formed in Richie’s eyes as he started sobbing all over again despite his inner wishes.
But this time it was different. Because this time the Losers were there.
OR: After getting screamed at by Henry for flirting with Connor at the arcade, Richie runs to the clubhouse instead, and learns that not only will he never have to feel alone again, but that even someone as messed up as him can be loved.

Sonia wants her son to forgo talking to his "friends" by giving him a bit too many pills, hoping he tells them he's tired so she can see him again.
So much for going out with his friends today.
