Summary
Tight fists open briefly only to close again around a fistful of blonde hair as Lena closes the distance between her and the taller hero. Kara sputters at the proximity, but thinks Lena may just need a hug; she’s left with wide, confused eyes when she feels harsh but incredibly soft lips against her own.
Everything stops. There’s nothing but silence in Lena’s head as her brows pinch together, not knowing what she expected from this. Fireworks, temporary relief, maybe Kara’s hands on her waist, Kara pulling her in, Kara pushing her away. But Kara’s hands hover in the air like they’re up in surrender, eyes remaining open in shock, lips remaining unmoving but so soft and torturously sweet.
When Lena pulls away, gasping at her mistake with her shaking hand over her mouth, Kara remains frozen in place. This time Kara’s the one panicking with a pounding in her head, ringing in her ears, and mouth gaping. Lena's out the door before Kara can even blink.

It picks up right after she kills Lex, but what if she blamed herself for Kara lying and not Kara?
