But the flightless wings weren't important. What was important was the lack of any connection that Techno and Tommy seemed to have.
They never interacted besides a few times, when Techno would maybe steal carrots from Tommy or when both would help Phil out with something (They both seemed to share that admiration for the Elytran at the very least) But it was rare to ever see them interact besides that. They didn’t act like brothers or even friends.
At the very most, they seemed to behave as though they were almost strangers. They both didn’t even seem to mind this arrangement. At least, on the surface it appeared so.
OR
The 2 times someone found a puzzles piece, the 2 times people already had all the puzzle pieces and the 1 time someone put together the puzzle pieces and asked about it.

Phil didn’t stop glaring at Techno until he disappeared back into the house. Only when the rabbit hybrid ducked under the doorframe of their backdoor did Phil turn back to look at his sad garden and broken trap, muttering a curse under his breath.
He was going to catch that raccoon and shove it into Techno’s sorry face when he finally did.
Phil always did get what he wanted.
Or, Phil's bird brain goes batshit trying to catch the avian kid living in the forest, Techno thinks Phil is insane, and Tommy is enjoying all of the free food he's stealing from their garden. Oh and Wilbur shows up too!

Tommy is constantly hearing how he could be better. Wilbur and Phil help him to fly (attempt to anyway), Techno is just... there. He doesn't really do much, although he does make Tommy help with his carrot farm occasionally. Jack, Tubbo, and Ranboo are always on about how Tommy is basically a chicken and dare him to do lots of stupid things.
He thinks it's funny for a while. It's all jokes, right? So it shouldn't hurt. Or at least... that's what he tells himself. What happens when some of the Origins SMP take it too far? Well, Tommy -being the biggest man EVER- trains harder. And harder. And harder. Until his friends don't really notice that he's gone. And when they do see him, they make the same 'jokes' over and over. -

Tommy accepted that his old life had been ripped from his hands ten years ago when he became illegal, but in the loss of his parents, he managed to make a friend.
When Beau, the only other avian, and hybrid, he had met since the decree was murdered by the HRA he goes on a journey to bring down the corrupt government and make a place where humans and hybrids can get along once more.
And he just so happens to make some friends who want to help out.
