The part of his mind that wasn’t a mess of screeching raccoon instincts said it was probably Orpheus’s, it had the villain’s scent on it, but that didn’t do much to calm him down. That just meant the villains still had him, and Dream was going to kill him, and where the fuck even was he?

Summary

And when a pair of shimmering blue eyes meet his, filled with a powerful mix of both terror and pain, Dream finds himself willing to dish out whatever funds the seller demands in order to protect the poor man from an even crueler fate than the one he's already been dealt. No matter what it takes, Dream is going to free this majestic bird, patch up his wounds, and ensure that he will one day fly again.

He looked ahead to see the pink rabbit from earlier running away from him, with a clock in his hand. He seemed to be muttering something about being late? It didn’t all that much to Tommy at the moment, the rabbit was getting away!
“Hey, you there! Stop running away, I need to ask you something!” Tommy called out, trying to run towards the creature.

There's a chill that comes with the changing seasons that Tommy hasn’t quite gotten used to yet. The night breeze that fights through the city streets seems to cut straight through his suit. The material was made for warmer times; if Tommy’s being honest when he started patrolling he never thought he would make it past the warm summer days.
His large ears fight against the pins that trap them. Each twitch sends a wave of pain to his skull, but it's better this way. Rabbit hybrids aren't a rare thing of course, hell they probably make up at least a quarter of the city, but he would rather be safe than sorry as he still stands out with his ear's unnatural golden color.

“Well it depends… what do you wanna talk about? We can talk about our days, our interests like- I don’t know, what do you do for fun?”
“The other day I saw dad kill a guard” the rabbit drawled “that was fun.”
He bit back a grimace at the bluntness of it. It was nothing he wouldn't expect from the emperor, there was just something jarring about hearing it without an underlying terror.
“I guess that's a start” he muttered “why’d he do that?”
“‘Dunno” the rabbit drawled, finally taking a bite of the carrot he grabbed for him “why would I care?”

The shadow of two pairs of wings are as bright to Techno as the sun could ever be.
There stood a tall child and a short man, black of the ashes and red of trickling blood. But they were also his brother and father, black of the hushed night and red of pomegranate shrubs.
And Techno doesn't understand how they are his family. Because even though they feel like family, they certainly don't look like family.

Phil is an Elytrian and can fly. Tommy is an Avian and will eventually learn how to fly. Techno has no idea why he doesn't have wings and why he couldn't be like his family.

Summary
The office was practically silent, the sound of writing and shuffling paper occasionally filling the space. The floor was hard wood, probably spruce, but the desk and chair sat on a plush carpet that felt expensive to the touch.
Currently, he was huddled under the oak desk, back pressed against the panelling that shielded the bottom from view. The position was harsh on his tail and his ears had to press against his head to fit but this was the best he’d be getting.
Hunched up against the dark corner of the desk felt safer than being out in the open where the bastard in front of him wanted him to be, anyways.
After escape attempt number eight, the emperor refused to let him more than a few steps away at any point in time. He even regularly checked under the desk to make sure that he was still there, probably half expecting him to have tunnelled out in the minutes he was left ‘unattended’.
He couldn't. The wood was too thick and it would be far too loud.
