Summary
Techno’s all bundled up in his sheets. He’s kicked his comforter to the end of his bed; his face is all turned to the side, burrowed into the pillow. Obviously, unlike Tommy, his natural glow isn’t incredible enough to prevent him looking as sick as he probably feels.
“Tech?” Tommy says.
Techno lifts a hand in a weak wave. “Hi,” he says, and wrinkles his nose. “You got me sick.”

30 minutes, an emotional phone call to Tommy’s parents, and some tears that were totally not shed, later- Tommy is walking out of Techno’s office, a signed hall pass clutched tightly in his right hand.
As he makes his way back up the stairs to his now fifth-period class, he feels the signature annoying itch, on his left arm this time, that always accompanies a soulmate marking their body. Rolling his eyes exasperatedly, he pulls up his sleeve, expecting to find Phil’s newest lesson plan or some of Wilbur’s dumb doodles, but instead, he gets a nice surprise.
Right there, in Technoblade’s neat scrawl: “care abt u, kiddo. good luck”
Already, he can see Wilbur start to draw little, stupid, hearts around it. Phil scribbles in question marks, and writes a little ‘text me’, and underlines it twice, and Tommy knows he cares as well.
He wipes his watery eyes, smiles, and then continues his slow ascent up the flight of stairs to his next class period.
