After being freed from the underworld the Angel of Death has begun wreaking havoc upon the mortal realm, taking over the Kingdom of Forseti. Techno, as the human who freed him, has allied with the Angel to enact revenge upon the people who betrayed him.
The only issue is, Techno never freed the Angel at all, and this is all a huge misunderstanding.
Or: Through a series of unfortunate events, and a lot of miscommunication, Techno gets adopted by the devil.

Techno doesn't understand why he is here, neither does he know if this is a dream or not, which in its entirety, it probably is.
But the numbness of his fingertips feels so real, and he can hear the thumping of his heels too clearly.
He doesn't dream that often; when he does, he'd always be back in that recurring nightmare where his family abandons him just like they did the first time.
He isn't in that nightmare right now, else he'd see the faces of the family he had long before Phil and Tommy, and the walls would be blood-stained with rotting yellow wallpaper instead of pitch black.

Distantly, he sees a figure laden with blood-stained armour. It's the blond warrior from earlier, jostling his own comrades away. Techno couldn't picture a single situation where his own execrated enemy would voluntarily save him.
“Stop it!” the blond warrior shrieks in a shrill voice—one that Techno would have never expected from such an unnerving person. “You lot are madmen! That is a child. You're beating the shit out of a child, for Prime’s sake!"

He once tried asking his father, the king, why some birds have strings tied to their feet. But all the man he's grown to call ‘Your Majesty’ and never ‘Papa’ did was make sure he'd never ask again.
But Techno was curious. So he did, he did ask again.
It ended with him being locked in a cellar with a racing heart and a bruise on his cheek. That story is one he'll choose to forget anyday.
That's why he talks to Phil, even if the crow, of course, never utters anything back. He walks the bird through how his day went, and how it's going to go for the following weeks. Monotonous. Painfully monotonous.

Unlike every other time he's been asked to read a letter addressed to him, they don't ask him to fight. They don't ask him to battle.
“You want me to..” Techno trails off, voice cut short by the rough edges of his throat. “You want me to be your kingdom’s general? Me, the guy who led a rebellion against you two years ago and the reason why you even need a new general in the first place?”

Technoblade was next, waking up with tusks sticking out of his mouth, they threw him to the monster graveyard. Wilbur his brother was thrown as food. Floris, had white stripes throughout her hair. Schlatt was thrown because he was born with strange square shaped pupils. Tubbo was food. Ranboo was born with two different colored eyes so he was thrown to the monster graveyard. Tommy was thrown as food. All of the people here had a story. Putting all these 'Monsters' into one place couldn't go wrong, could it?
