Summary
Freya was waiting for him to let go, but even shaking from the tension of holding himself together, Baldur swallowed it all down, thick and bitter though it was.
“So, you’ll help me? You’ll get rid of it? The spell? I don’t want to do this anymore.”
He was begging her, pleading, laying himself bare, surrendering a part of him that was so raw, and it moved Freya to tears as she held him. She would do anything for him, anything he wanted, anything to ease his suffering… but not this.
“I understand—”
“Thank you!” He croaked miserably, his voice breaking.
“—but I can’t.”
A young god, Baldur is trying to figure out how life should be, when prophecy and fear leads him to become invulnerable at the hands of his mother, the Goddess Freya. Though thought a gift at first, he quickly realises how bereft and detatched the invulnerability truly makes him feel. Even being a god has left him entirely unprepared to deal with the fall-out, and he finds himself quickly spiralling into madness.

Summary
A winter has passed since the events of Ragnarök. Two weeks have gone since the time Kratos and Mimir spent in Valhalla, and both Freya and Kratos have yet to see one another since.
The God of War has remained mostly dormant in his position, returning to his old log home in Midgard, deeming it unfit to reside in Sindri’s. In his son’s absence Kratos has recently found himself feeling lost and alone, especially after his adventuring with Freya ceased in the winter.
Freya has taken up the part of a strong leader and a potent warrior since Ragnarök, but hidden beneath the facade of her duties and leadership, she feels weak and vulnerable. The loss of both her brother and son in such short years took a part of her with her, and things have not looked the same.
*This is a fan fiction that is based primarily around my suspicions of the characterizations of Freya and Kratos in God of War 4 and 5. This story focuses less on Atreus and most other characters but instead on Freya and Kratos, as with God of War 5 their story seemed yet to be finished, and Freya had a mythology that was not complete. I do hope to include a continuation of Sigrund’s and Mimir’s tale, but we shall see.*

Atreus had set up a dating profile for his father on this app, surely this wouldn't be mad about it right? He needed to live a little okay, it had been 7 years since the death of his mother and his father had been single ever since. He deserved to be happy and if that meant him setting his father up for a blind date then so be it.
Freyr had done the same, albeit for his sister. She had gotten out of a highly abusive 20 year relationship, well it had ended 5 years ago and surely she did need to live a little according to Freyr. So he set up this blind date for her. She wouldn't murder him for this, right?
However due to a big threat in Freya's life she has to seek safety, luckily Kratos is willing to take her in. Atreus is happy to have another person at home, not realising in how much danger Freya is.

Summary
Mimir breathes deeply, knowing this is simply a memory that Valhalla has pulled for him, but he’s happy nonetheless. It’s his homeland, a place he hasn’t been in centuries, and he’s quite pleased at how intact his memory is.
When he looks down at himself, he nearly falls over. He had felt heavier for a reason, he marvels, as he lifts his arms slowly to inspect his hands. His body is reattached to his head for the first time in years, and he’d almost forgotten how nice it felt. He loves traveling with Kratos, but having his own means to move is incredibly freeing. He can still remember dancing with his friends in this forest, making stupid jokes, playing pranks, getting drunk. He knows it’s not real, but he has to resist the urge to call out to those friends.
