Rei's been keeping Giratina on his team lately.
It'd truly, genuinely started innocent. It's a Pokemon he needs to study, so he'll take it out and bring it around to get a sense of how it moves, the way it lives. The first few times he let Giratina loose onto the field, it'd even been true.
The Pokedex entry comes together quickly, though. Legendary Pokemon always lend themselves well to careful study; it's not like he can go find another, and everyone knows as much, so simply observing the one individual has to be enough. When he approaches the pasture gates with Giratina out of its ball to be taken off the active roster, though, he... hesitates.
When he looks back at it, his eyes linger on the gold ridges lining its body, ringing its legs, and in the back of his head there's an image of blond hair. The grey of its carapace—a single silver eye that flashes with light. He can't do it.
