Summary
Sunny didn't know where he was or how he got there, but he'd really like to go home now please. Omori was frustrated at Sunny's anxiety and would also really like to go home now please, because he had to protect Sunny and it was so much easier to do so inside the safety of their room. Oh wait, this is a coffin? Had they died? If that was the case, Sunny would really like to have stayed dead. Omori was rather more relieved that they were awake than his counterpart.
Wait a minute, a talking fire cat? Well, it's certainly no Mewo, but neither boy could ever resist a kitty. Still, the existence of such a creature causes both Omori and Sunny to question whether this was yet another Headspace adventure or a Real-world issue. Sunny was convinced it was a Headspace issue and thus fell to Omori to deal with; you don't get Japanese-speaking fire-cats in Real-world, after all. Omori argued that they were having to take turns with the Real-world body and thus it must be a Real-world problem for Sunny to deal with.
Neither was prepared for it to be a new world entirely.

Summary
Closet just by the side of his bed, Sunny pulls the wooden doors of the closet open.
..Did his mom put a mirror in here?
Sunny blinks, squinting for a moment, and realization dawns him when he notices that the figure's eyes don't follow his movement, skin borderline porcelain. He quickly staggers back and reaches for his violin behind him, only for his thin fingers to grab at air. Shoot, he left his violin downstairs. His only option now is to keep his eyes on the figure, making sure to focus on the person(?) before him.
Omori sits leaning his back against one side of the closet as the other had his black socked feet pressed on the wood, his arms are curled around his knees and Sunny can see the faint shine of his knife in his hand.
"Hi," Omori simply greets.
Sunny gets a "little brother" in the shape of his regrets.
Or, Omori is a weirdo of a kid and Sunny is not mentally stable enough to care for a 12-year-old. He still tries, though.
(Was that a fucking Sprout Mole just now?)

Summary
Sunny didn't mean to leave Mama, he just wanted to go outside just once, to feel the warmth of the sun he hadn't felt for a while (3 and half years).
Mama was his everything, he would never think of leaving her! (not after she punished him several times for being bad.)
He was a good boy! but good boys don't hurt their mamas, right? He had to be good, he was the only one she had left. (After all, he was the one who ruined it when he hurt mar-) He missed his friends, he hadn't played with anyone but Mama for years, and she only played when he was good...
Mama loved him, really she did! (Then, why did you have so many ouchies?) She just showed he love differently than other people.
Sunny had just meant to step out for a minute, then return back to the safety of his mother's embrace! (Is it as safe as you think it is?) But Omori and Reverie insisted he stays out just a little longer, surely he could trust his best friends, right? They had always kept him safe and sound.
Or, the same events as the cannon timeline leading up to Mari's death, and diverges after Sunny shut himself in his house, this happens 3, and a half years of his hermit arc, when he just wanted a breath of fresh air briefly. -

Summary
Sunny and Basil were best friends. It was obvious to anybody that they were close. When a terrible accident happens a week before Sunny and Mari’s recital, the younger boy finds that something is missing without Basil’s company.
Sunny still has things to tell him, days to share with him. He sits, waiting by the phone– waiting for a reply that will never come.
( A side–story to nursery desolation. Once again, experimental. Can be read as stand–alone, but is canon to the story. The title does not indicate that the story is abandoned – rather, it’s a reference to the ost tracks with the same name. )

Summary
You know the story already; MARI tragically dies as a result of a complete accident, BASIL and SUNNY hide what happened, SUNNY is traumatized and uses dreams to cope, BASIL is estranged from everyone, HERO is in shambles for a year, AUBREY is left to pick up the pieces and KEL tries his hardest to make peace with all of it. Needless to say, the friend group falling apart was an inevitable consequence of her death.
But...the friend group getting back together? What if that was the will of the supernatural, the result of MARI being unable to pass on and left to oversee her friends?
But if she had been right there with the friend group the whole time, why is she just out of reach and unable to interact with them? Could the only way she can is if her spirit is, somehow, made whole again?
A new interpretation: if there truly is life after death, then how do the Faraway kids fair? Maybe MARI is right there with them, or maybe it's just a coping mechanism. Regardless, it's up to all them to put their differences and issues aside to come together as friends once more.
For MARI's soul's sake, and for their own.

Summary
Every part of Sunny was telling him to destroy the photos. They mocked him with images of her death, of the horrible deeds he'd done to her. He felt like he was going insane the longer he stared at each dark, colorless image. He should have destroyed them.
...but he couldn't bare to part with the memories.
He couldn't part with Mari.

Summary
Things can change fast. Too fast, at times. And when it's too fast it can be... scary. For Sunny, two weeks can feel the same as ever but also completely different all at once.
