Summary
It’s almost summer again in Hawkins, and thanks to a group of rag-tag teenagers, any threat from the supernatural had finally subsided. With the Byers, Hopper and Eleven moving back to Indiana and the party being complete once again, things can finally go back to normal. Although, both Will and Mike wouldn’t call what was happening between them normal at first.

(The title is lyrics from “I’m with You” by Vance Joy. The acoustic version is one of my favorite songs at the moment and it fits so well, you should definitely listen to it some time while reading this fic.)

Summary
Will just wants to get through his last year of high school without incident, to feel normal for once in his life, and try to survive the building tension between him and Mike that grows with every word left unsaid. On the first day of school, Will meets someone new who may finally offer him the acceptance he craves, but he’s unsure what to do when it causes his relationship with Mike to hit a breaking point, forcing them both to confront their true feelings. Summary

And despite his friends, who bully relentlessly, he has a heart of gold. And the guilt he carries with his friends' actions takes a toll every day. And for this, he feels kind of lonely. He feels like the life he is living belongs to someone else, not him. It all feels wrong. He wants to live a life with more...purpose.
When an unforeseen, violent event draws them together, they form a connection that no one in their lives-not even them-saw coming. Will Mike and El be exactly what the other needs to give their lives purpose? Or will their social standings keep them apart?

“Troy, c’mon.” Mike interjected. “Leave him alone, man.” Will clutched his sketchbook to his chest, making brief eye contact with Mike and sending him a small smile of thanks.
Troy glared up at him. “Dude.”
Mike raised an eyebrow. “Dude.” He shook his head. “He’s just a nerd. He’s not worth your time. And he's definitely not worth a detention.” Mike eyed the teacher.
Will knew Mike was just playing a part, but the mild insult still stung. He looked down. Mike was still friends with Troy. He was still part of the cronies. Of course he couldn’t be prince charming twenty-four-seven.
Troy sighed. “Fine.” He turned back to Will. “You got off lucky this time, but I promise you, I’ll figure out what’s in that little book of yours if it’s the last thing I do.” He hissed, mouth twisted into a frown, and turned away.
As Mike passed Will’s desk, he pressed a piece of folded paper discreetly against the wood, not making eye contact.
Will unfolded the piece of notebook paper.
