Seo Changbin answered more quickly than Minho did, as if instead of listening, he waited for the exact moment she’d pause for his answer. Minho looked over, drawn to his tone. He was bright, clearly confident. Changbin turned to him and slipped his hands in his pockets. Cool and casual. He gave Minho a nod, a “we formed a band when we were twelve, and now we’re performing a sold out show, are you ready?” kind of nod.
Minho answered with a flick of his eyebrow, practiced and precise, though usually employed on Woojin at midnight, when he was tired and unwilling to say what he really wanted aloud. Though the expression was the same, what he hoped to express was wholly different: Minho knew only the challenge Hoyoung faced to get Joowon to agree to help him.
“I don’t trust that look in your eye,” Changbin began.
“I’m not trusting you to trust my eyes, just my intentions.”
“I don’t trust that either.”

Or, Minho gets cast as the lead, Changbin as his closest ally, but their off-screen chemistry is anything but friendly.

“Gay. And no, let’s not normalize needlessly pining because what if it turns into something even better?” Changbin asks.
“Yeah, well, the chances of that are, like, close to none.”
“So self-deprecating,” Jisung comments. “So… emo.”
“Shut up, try again.”
“You won’t know unless you try,” Jisung amends. “Plus, you two are super close. I’m sure Felix wouldn’t hold it against you if you confessed to him. He’d probably reject you in the nicest way possible.”

In hindsight, Chris should’ve tried a little bit harder to not fall in love with his best friend.
At least, that’s what he thinks he should’ve done as his junior year closes out and gives way to the sweet not-freedom of a summer full of swim meets and procrastinating summer homework from his senior-year teachers.
Alas, life never turns out the way we expect it to. It’s not like you can blame Chris for developing feelings for Felix Lee.

This Minho and the Minho from the club don’t mesh easily in Changbin’s mind. He saw Minho so confident under the dim spotlights on the dance floor, pretty words flowing from Changbin’s lips as Minho grinded his ass into Changbin’s hips under the guise of dancing.
