L wasn’t a good driver; he could admit that, to himself. Since he and Quillsh were the only ones who knew the route to the old Wammy summer home, L wasn’t surprised to be behind the wheel. (Thankful, maybe, that he had the forethought to secure this little automatic Volkswagen rather than flounder on the stick shift Quillsh always tried to teach him.) He dared to be happy about his driver role, even; it was appropriate that he chauffeured Light to where they’d be married in a day’s time. Something romantic about crossing the threshold, carrying his love into his world – L stuck out his tongue. Long drives made him corny.

Jinu. The jagged marks covering his body the same colourful, shiny pattern her own turned once she and the girls sealed the Honmoon. Tears fill her eyes, a wave of emotion so intense washing over her that she can barely breathe.
The relief leaves her shoulders shaking, tears falling down her already tear streaked face as she takes in the sight of him. His wide, honey eyes, his dark hair messy and unkempt, a smile stretched across his lips. She can’t believe it.

There was little to be found in the underworld. It was designed that way, mind-numbingly empty and dull; just enough to keep you present, not enough to make you feel anything but the crushing weight of time. Ruins, and smoldering cities, reminiscent of the scenes that followed war marches; swampy wetlands, filled with marsh and muck; deep, dark caves, and quiet forests, and empty fields. Everything existed as refractions of the world above, reflecting the worst parts and abandoning the rest, filled with the purple haze of Gwi-Ma’s influence.
Despite this, there was music.
