“It’s not Tony’s child, it’s Tony.” Pepper finished wearily. “Something happened at the Sanctum, Tony touched something he wasn't supposed to touch and he’s four years old now. I have no idea what’s going on or how long it will take to fix itself. Right now we’re just rolling with it, alright?”
“Rolling with it.” Clint repeated. “With a ridiculously cute four year old with squirrel cheekies and an IQ high enough to make me dizzy? Just rolling with that, huh?”

A loud, high pitched beeping filled the room, and the screen up on the window flashed red, displaying a smiling, strawberry blond, curly haired man, with a slight stubble, the Identification flashing Peter Quill.
Kraglin nearly leaped forward to press the answer button, but Yondu stopped him, calmly clicking the button himself. Peter’s dirty face appeared on the screen, looking more than a little nervous.
“Hi Dad, Pa,” greeted Peter, smiling wearily.
“Where da hell ‘ave ya been, boy?” Asked Yondu asked, as his eyes fluttered around his boy's face. Dirt up his cheek, and forehead, a slight cut on his eyebrow.
“Dealin’ with a Karpalion, nasty bastards. Sharp teeth and claws, but like ta crush their victims fer fun.” Peter explained, “but uh... don’t be mad..." He said, tone more nervous now.
Kraglin frowned, “why? What ‘appened? ‘R’ ya ‘urt?”
“No, no..." Assured Peter, waving a dismissive hand. “‘M fine... just... y’know? We was flyin’ back, and Rocket crashed The Milano.”Or;
Peter's ship crashes with his crew, and so calls his parents; Yondu and Kraglin.

Peter had fought back. He had used his powers against Ego. He had used his powers against Ego, and won. The planet blew up and ceased to exist along with the half-celestial side of Peter- or well, he had thought so. Ego had told him that as long as his core remained alive, the powers that blessed Peter would still course through his blood. And Peter was sure that those powers drained from his body once the core blew. He had felt it in fact – the nausea that he experiences for days after, the tiredness that he couldn’t seem to shake no matter how many hours of sleep he got, and the ache in his joints. He was sure that the powers were gone – he was certain.
Until he wasn’t.

What if the powers Peter got from Ego didn't die out with the core? What if Ego lied about Peter needing him to keep the powers? What if Peter found out he still had powers, but chose to keep them hidden?
