Forest Hills Trailer Park, or as Steve now called it - Home.
Listen Steve knows weird, okay? Mind wizards, creatures that came from another dimension, Russians, and space portals. He thought nothing could surprise him anymore.
Yet here was Eddie, in the middle of August dressed in his Michael Myers mask and about to go head to head with the family of raccoons that had taken up home under his trailer.
It's not even 8 am.
He would like to tell you it wasn't the strangest thing that he had seen this week, but he wouldn't like to lie. -

A snowstorm, a broken van, and having to go into the office three times a week via public transit were going to drive Eddie to an early grave or locked up for his own sanity. But at least the bus got him from A to B, and as long as he had his headphones and Old Flo and her cat stories to keep him going, he could hold out until the part for his van got fixed.
Only fate really hates Eddie Munson.
Or at least bus strikes do.
Public transit in general isn't his biggest fan, to be fair.
But maybe it's not all bad, after all, he would never have met the stranger in the yellow scarf if he had kept on riding the bus. -

When Steve and Robin move to the coast to help renovate the hotel Argyle inherited from his Grandfather, Steve gets more than he bargained for. The line between reality and dreams is blurring. In his dreams, Eddie Munson is alive and well.
Something is living in the woods. Something that has a taste for blood. Something that the locals, hot off the buzz from Lost Boys being filmed there, are quick to blame on the supernatural.

“Yeah well, maybe, but right now I’m happy to just not,” Eddie grumbled, turning his attention back to the stove where he was busy trying to remember how to put together the ingredients to his mom’s pot pie. “It’s been me and Wayne since I was little. I’m happy just the way things are.”
Three years after the end of the world, Eddie’s dad is up for parole, and Eddie's past is quickly becoming his future.

It doesn't help that he’s pretty sure he’s been in love with Steve for the last ten years. Not that he would tell anyone that. Living on a different coast doesn’t make it easier, not when he knows Steve’s tuning in to his show every night.
At 35 Steve is content, he’s got his own hair studio, his best friend and a cat that tolerates him as long as he keeps bringing it tuna. He has his routine and his long standing friendly rivalry with Eddie to keep him sane.
That is until Dustin drops the bomb that he’s getting married, and suddenly his world is turned upside down. He’s going to have to really start looking at the reason he’s constantly got Eddie on his mind. -

A trip to the lake with the kids and Eddie shouldn't be so confusing.
If the kids would just give Steve five seconds to think he would be able to get his head straight. ( Straight? Oh how that ship had sailed) .
Inviting Eddie to come join them on a few days away had just been step one on Steve's plan.
Step two had been to get Eddie alone.
Step three was... a work in progress.
Listen, Steve might have learned a thing or two about himself while he was off visiting Robin at college, that didn't mean he knew what he was doing.
He just hoped he still had a friend in Eddie after he worked it all out.
He's just got to survive being the responsible adult for a few days first. -

This is a love story.
It's easy to say that looking back now on the eighteen years have past. time is a strange mistress and she does as she pleases. But to start at the end is a strange place to start any story.
When Rainbow Graveyard made it, performing as his alter ego Munster, should have been everything Eddie had wanted.
But Eddie's not a person who was built to be loved, and doesn't know what to do with the feelings that are growing for his bandmate by the day. The upside down might not have killed him, but Eddie never imagined that being on stage with Steve every night would be the thing that finally finished him off.When he got on stage, Steve's alter ego Knocks took the wheel, and what Knocks wanted was Munster. But that wasn't Steve, Steve was too much, loved too fast and hard, destroying everyone and everything he touched. Including himself.
It was all so much easier before the world of music came knocking on the door, when it was just him and Eddie against the world. Now something unsaid hangs heavy over them both.
But that is the middle of our tale.
Our story starts with a guitar, and a promise. And rain, because it always rains in a love story. -

The almost constant presence of Steve was hard-wiring Eddie's brain to sit constantly at a state of half horny half stupid. Sometimes he couldn't hide the frustrated grunt that shot out of him as he banged his head on the counter. It happened whenever Steve walked past with his stupid ruddy cheeks doing something dashing and noble and endearing himself even more to that really weak part of Eddie's psyche.
So far in the last few days since they had set up, he had been a witness too, in no discernible order a thousand tiny acts of Harrington heroics and each and every one of them is causing him to question the very basis of his moral fibre.

God this man had a lot to learn and Eddie really wanted to be the one to teach him. It was almost cute how his face twisted up like that whenever he got new information and tried to decipher it.
“And I never will if everybody does the Steve is an idiot face every time I ask a question.”

Between working, running around after the kids and trying his hardest to get back to normality, Steve somehow ended up with Eddie permanently stuck to his side, he doesn't hate it.
Between working (he's still not sure how that happened but he will take it!) finding his feet as an average law-abiding citizen, with a fancy new government-funded house, Eddie somehow ended up with a best friend in Steve Harrington.
A friend, that was all he was... only they seemed to be together all the time, and now they're hosting a Hallowe'en party for the survivors of the end of the world. Together.
like everything else, they do these days.
