Summary
Mike's life is split into two, clean halves. His life in Indiana, in the sun's harsh light, where he's fucked up in more ways than one. And then there's his other life, under the alias of legendarymichael, on the never-ending planes of the Internet. His digital heaven, where Mike exists as an untouchable, faceless deity; worshipped and praised.
Mike is good at keeping the two separate. Or so he thought, until Will Byers collides into his neatly sliced life, and derails it all when he takes a bite from both halves.

“Yes.” Mike imagines Cass nodding. “We have two sisters, a fifteen-year-old and a four, nearly five-year-old.”
“Two?” Mike mouths to Will in disbelief. Holy shit.

"What are they, your little pets? El can't leave the cabin, and god forbid Will strays more than three feet from your shadow, despite the fact you were completely ignoring him!" Max snapped right back.

His eyes have wandered along that strong nose, those bunny teeth peeking out between parted lips, that mole beside his mouth. He’s catalogued every detail of that messy brown hair, those long eyelashes, and that pair of enchanting hazel eyes, over and over again, to the point where it burns behind his eyelids when he kisses his girlfriend.
“Holy shit,” the man breathes, gaping in shock, and for once in his life, Mike doesn’t need a trick to stop his loud mouth. For the first time, he’s truly struck dumb.
Because it’s him. Older, taller, and different, but it’s him.
The man standing in front of them, somehow, is Will.

It was him not being able to move on from what happened in the past. It was him not being able to grow the fuck up already.
